THE latest Ultimate Fighting Championship videogame is set to be unveiled at UFC 84, according to reports.
Games giant THQ are publishing the game, having signed a five-year contract with the UFC last year.
The famed publishing house – who are also behind the groundbreaking WWE titles – earned exclusive rights to publish UFC games through to the end of 2011 for all console and portable platforms, as well as wireless devices.
We’re told titles will be released annually to ensure the franchise and its roster of fighters stays fresh. The first installment is expected to feature current and past UFC champions, with Rampage Jackson, Chuck Liddell and Britain’s Michael Bisping already modelled into characters for the game.
Our friends at MMA Junkie say THQ executives will officially reveal the name of the title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24th – the night BJ Penn fights Sean Sherk for the lightweight title.
