Right off I have to say that out of the six matches that we are going to get tonight at No Way Out, I’m going to get four of them right. A few weeks ago there were two Raw matches that I was so sure about, but in the last couple of weeks I’m starting to feel like my original picks might not be the way to go. I will get more into that when toward the end of my column. What I’m going to do is start with the four that I feel are quite predictable and end with Raw’s two matches that are really making me go crazy because I keep going back and forth with my picks. Okay so here I go.
ECW Championship – Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk
Chavo wins, there’s not doubt in my mind that his title reign will continue. I have to say that the feud has really picked up. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the Gulf Of Mexico match and this past week I could not get over how HOT the Houston, Texas crowd was when it came to giving Chavo tons of heat. Yeah this feud is going very well and since CM lost the belt just a few short weeks ago there is no way that he’s going to win it back this soon. Now if Vince uses his head and I really hope he does, he will give these guys time to do their thing. This could be a really good match because both men are so very capable of entertaining the fans.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero
Ric Flair vs. Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy
Mr. Kennedy….Kennedy will not be THE guy that retires Ric Flair. It’s not going to happen tonight. I think this could turn out to be a decent match. You have two guys here that can really get the fans going so I am really counting on this being a good one.
Winner: Ric Flair
Smackdown/ECW Elimination Chamber Match – Undertaker vs. Batista vs. MVP vs. Finlay vs. Big Daddy V vs. Khali
This is the match that is sending Undertaker to Wrestlemania against Edge. You can easily rule out Big Daddy V and Khali immediately. As for MVP I don’t think Vince is ready to have him headline WM, and with Edge as Smackdown’s top heel there’s no way MVP could get in there anyway. For now I feel Batista’s days in the title picture are on hold. Which leaves the Undertaker. This is a given, Taker is going to headline Wrestlemania against Edge and see if he can keep his 15-0 record going which I think he will. This is Smackdown’s first chamber match, and hopefully this will come off very well. I have no idea in what order the guys will leave but look for all the Smackdown/ECW guys will come through for this one.
Winner: Undertaker
World Heavyweight Championship – Rey Mysterio vs. Edge
You know I don’t even know if this match is now going to happen. I’m sure you know that Rey was injured during a house show match on Wednesday night in Chile. WWE.com posted this item almost immediately and it’s believed that he tore his biceps. WWE also said that he is planning on showing up for his match on Sunday. Now one of the sites yesterday believes that the muscle tore completely off the bone and rolled up. And he could be out as long as 6 months with surgery. This is very upsetting to me since Mysterio just returned in August after 9 months out for knee surgery. I really hope that he’s not there tonight if it is a complete tear. I would much rather Rey would be in Birmingham under a doctor’s care. Now whether he does appear or not I can’t see this match happening. If it does then I would think that Edge would just take him out in a matter of seconds. As most of you know I was really looking forward to their match because I was so thrilled about what they gave us at the Royal Rumble. Of course I’m going with Edge for the win, but I was going with Edge even if Rey would have been 100 percent healthy.
Winner: Edge
Raw Elimination Chamber Match – Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. Triple H vs. JBL vs. Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy
How weird is this, two Elimination Chamber matches on one pay per view. I honestly don’t know if putting two out there is a good thing or bad thing. This could be a great idea, or an idea that looked so good on paper, but just bombed once they got on TV because two chamber matches are just too much. Now this is one of the Raw matches that I immediately gave the win to Triple H. But in the back of my mind even though I’m about 98% sure Hunter will win, I think there is a slight chance that Jeff Hardy is going to win and headline Wrestlemania. The guy is SO over and maybe Vince is finally realizing this. And after the match that he had with Shawn Michaels this past Monday, makes me think even more that Hardy could get the win. I am so very torn about who to pick. I will stay with my first pick, Triple H but I really think a Jeff Hardy win is not out of the question. Let me say this, with Hardy, Jericho, Michaels and Hunter in here it’s going to be something to see. And I am very sure that JBL and Umaga will add a lot to this as well.
Winner: Triple H
WWE Championship – John Cena vs. Randy Orton
After Cena’s Royal Rumble win I figured that he was going to beat Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. But when he opted to take on Orton at No Way Out, I just figured he would beat Orton a month sooner. But you know what? I really don’t see Cena winning. I think Orton will beat Cena tonight and the Wrestlemania Raw main event will be Cena vs. Orton vs. either Hunter or Jeff Hardy. I can’t see Orton dropping the belt tonight, not when Wrestlemania is the next pay per view. I’m sure the fans will be into this one, and since the show is in Las Vegas and not at Madison Square Garden, I think it’s almost safe to say that the Chain Gang will be in full force. Hopefully this will be a good match.
Winner: Randy Orton
I can’t wait to see the show tonight. Now I don’t know what match is closing the show, but it’s rumored that the Smackdown brand’s Elimination Chamber match will close the show. I’m excited about No Way Out and I will have something to say about the show along with my Raw thoughts on Tuesday. Thank you for sending me your predictions and keep them coming there’s still time.
