Should Barack Obama make it to the general election, he’s got his own pseudo-superhero in his corner: “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan.
The Hulkster — real name Terry Bollea — informally endorsed Mr. Obama during a recent taping of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
“If I had to step out, and say who I really believe in — that catches my ear, that makes sense, that really can make a change — I would say Obama,” replied Mr. Hogan, a former pro wrestler/reality TV star, when asked who’d get his vote.
“Everybody plays this card — the bad guy card, you know the dirty politics thing, talk about the way people dress, act and look — and he’s the choice. He seems like the real deal, you know.”
In what has got to be the most bizarre trend this election cycle, Mr. Hogan is now the third action hero to come out in support of a presidential candidate. However, he’s the first to throw his (considerable) weight behind a Democrat.
“Walker, Texas Ranger” Chuck Norris has been on Mike Huckabee’s team for months now, and “Rocky” himself, Sylvester Stallone, just last week said he’s for John McCain.
Still, the skeptic in us requires us to point out that Mr. Stallone’s latest “Rambo” film just came out, and Mr. Hogan’s been working the media circuit in support of “American Gladiators.”
Hillary, we’re waiting. We think Steven Seagal’s still available.
