With the launch of WWE HD tonight starting with Monday Night RAW, WWE is still undecided if they should go red or blu – HD DVD or Blu-Ray – for their high def releases. As all of you know, the format war is not yet over and while HD DVD enjoys the fact that they have cheaper hardware, Blu-Ray has support from five major movie studios which gives them the edge in the war. “We want to be able to repurpose these events that we produce and tape. Going forward, it’s going to be an HD world, so we should have HD content that we can make DVDs out of, and use this material for the future,” said Mike Grossman, WWE’s Senior Vice President for Television Operations.
