Some of you may recall a recent blog posting by WWE Color Commentator and Hall of Famer “JR” Jim Ross regarding his stance on the investigation on steroids in professional wrestling by the United States Congress. Apparently, JR has come under intense scrutiny by many supporters of the investigation, and even one Chris Cruise (former WCW announcer). Below are excerpts taken from each of their blogs.
JR writes:
“I understand Congress getting involved with (this) issue, but it is hard for any American citizen to debate the fact that Congress doesn’t have more pressing issues on their plate than this issue. Hopefully Congress can expedite these hearings and develop a plan to solve the problem…”
Chris Cruise writes:
“If you care at all about the health of boys and young men in this country, and want to work to keep them from using steroids, you will encourage Congress to investigate pro wrestling (or you will at least remain silent on the issue), because surely WWE is incapable of keeping steroids out of pro wrestling. A brief viewing of any WWE TV shows is proof of that.”
Congress is also asking for YOUR help in their investigation for steroids in professional wrestling. If you have any tips concerning steroid use in professional wrestling, you can fill out a form at oversight.house.gov/contact/wrestling.asp. Their webpage states the following: The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform continues to investigate allegations of steroid use in professional wrestling.
