UTICA — Get ready to rumble, wrestling fans, because the WWE is bringing Raw Live! to the Utica Memorial Auditorium at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.
Top matches will pit Triple H against Mr. Kennedy, and Jeff Hardy against Randy Orton in a battle for the WWE Championship. WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix will defend her title against Maria. Tag team champions Bob Holly and Cody Rhodes will be defending their titles against former champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.
Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, better known simply as Triple H, is considered a resilient champion in the WWE. He seemingly comes out on top more often than not, using his wit to come up with plots his opponents just don’t see coming. He’s up against Ken Kennedy, known as one of the WWE’s most confident superstars.
Orton, who prides himself as the “Legend Killer,” has beaten the likes of Sgt. Slaughter, Jake “the Snake” Roberts and hardcore legend Mick Foley. Orton is defending his championship title against Hardy, who began his WWE career as one-half of the “Team Extreme,” The Hardys, and in singles competition. But Hardy’s talents extend beyond the ring and into art. Besides wrestling, he pursues writing, music and artwork.
In the ring, however, Hardy is known for his unorthodox, high-impact moves off the top ropes and 20-foot ladders.
Also scheduled to appear are former multiple-time WWE champion JBL, William Regal and Santino Marella, as well as others. The line-up is subject to change.
