Tonight marks the 21st installment of the annual WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view program. The WWE has spent a good amount of time building up the show, probably more time than any shows of recent memory. The contributors here at XHeadlines.com are GIVING YOU WHAT YOU WANT as we speak our minds on how we think the matches should and will play out.
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels (WWE Championship Match)
As we found out on WWE Mobile, Shawn Michaels can’t use his patented Sweet Chin Music superkick. If he does, he’ll be disqualified AND lose the opportunity to have title shots forever. We also learned the Randy Orton can’t try to get disqualified. If he does, he’ll lose the match AND his WWE Championship to Shawn. Judging from the fire that’s been burning in the belly of HBK over the past 6 weeks, Michaels will likely find some way to win… but at what cost?
World Heavyweight Champion Batista vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell World Title Match)
This match is being called the rubber match between these two SmackDown powerhouses. As the records show, each competitor has a record of 1-1-2. Both men are hungry for the World Title and both men undoubtedly have a great level of respect for each other. However, when you’re inside the demonic structure that is Hell in a Cell, the only thing in your mind is to survive. Undertaker’s experience and numbness to emotions definitely gives him the edge in this match and because of that we’re picking Undertaker to win at his own game in his own backyard.
Team Triple H vs. Team Umaga in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match
The traditional Survivor Series match… they happen only once a year. This bout will prove to be nothing short of amazing as you have quite a few of tomorrow’s stars in the ring with a few veterans as well. The excitement is definitely there, with the possibility of seeing NINE eliminations. The key to Triple H’s team winning is to keep the man in the ring fresh at all times. Size is obviously not their advantage and they’ll need to make adjustments to compensate. On the other hand, Umaga’s team has a nasty side to them. The key for Umaga’s team will be to control the tempo of the match. They can’t let the high flying Hardys and Mysterio run circles around them and wear them down. XHeadlines is looking for seven eliminations with Jeff Hardy getting the win for Triple H’s team… likely on Umaga.
CM Punk vs. The Miz vs. John Morrison in a Triple Threat Match for the ECW Championship
We’re all hoping that this match is better than Miz’s and Morrison’s commentary this past week on ECW because that was nothing short of a debacle. It will certainly be interesting to see how the new WWE Tag Team Champions coexist in the ring together. Although it IS a triple threat match, will Miz and Morrison use their new-found partnership to their advantage or will CM Punk exploit their differences to create an opening to retain his title? At the end of the day, look for CM Punk to continue reigning supreme on Tuesday nights.
Cade & Murdoch vs. Rhodes & Holly (World Tag Team Championship)
If you missed how this match came about, Rhodes and Holly won a #1 Contender match this past week, via a WWE.com airing of the match. Cade and Murdoch have been having a little trouble focusing as of late, mostly due to Mickie James “distracting” Trevor Murdoch. On the flip side, how well will Holly be able to compensate for the lack of spotlight experience in Rhodes? Holly’s determination and focus will likely be enough to put his team on top and take the straps away from the country duo of Cade and Murdoch.
Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali
As we said about the Hell in a Cell match, it’s all about survival here. One wrong step, literally, and Hornswoggle could end up as a green glob of goo on the bottom of Khali’s monstrous size shoe! Something here just doesn’t add up though… we’re looking for some type of interference or disqualification. There should be absolutely no way that this match will end cleanly. But to save the reputation of Khali, he’ll either win outright or will lose to Hornswoggle via DQ. WWE can’t be dumb enough to have him get pinned by a leprechaun.

WHO CARES?! WE ALL WIN!
