I am so excited about going to No Mercy. And now with the WWE championship up for grabs I hope that No Mercy will turn out to be one of WWE’s best pay per views of the year. Of course the show will have the sizzling HOT Chicago crowd and you know that we are going to make sure you all hear us; well at least I hope that’s the case. I haven’t gotten too many predictions emailed to me but I am noticing that with the exception of one of my readers the rest of you are going with Beth Glamazon Phoenix to leave as the new women’s champion. Well let me give my picks for the night and either tomorrow or Tuesday I will let you know what it was like being there live. And if any of you have the time please email me and let me know what No Mercy was like on TV and how the crowd came off. Okay here I go.
Beth Phoenix vs. Candice Women’s Championship Title Match
I might as well start with this one first. I was going to go with the majority of my readers and pick Beth, but I’m going to stay with Candice tonight. I wish I had a solid reason why I feel Candice will keep the title but I don’t. I could see Candice hanging on tonight and losing it at the end of the month at Cyber Sunday. I didn’t think their first match was that bad, but if I recall the fans were on the quiet side while this was going on. I would love to see these two women put on a very strong match tonight, one that really gets a good reaction from the crowd.
Winner: Candice
Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio
This is one of those feuds where nothing really big happened between these two guys on Smackdown. The build up was there but it wasn’t exactly the focus of the shows. But there is no doubt in my mind that Mysterio and Finlay will be pretty damn good in the ring. I am very anxious to see this match, maybe because I haven’t seen Finlay live, so this is a match that I am really looking forward too. I am going with a Rey Mysterio win. Rey just got back a couple of months ago and if the rumors are true Mysterio vs. Edge is going to happen so Rey needs to beat the tough Finlay tonight.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V, or Viscera as I like to call him
Oh boy I don’t think you want to really hear my thoughts on how I feel about Vis being in here. Well to make a long story short, Punk can wrestle, Vis is just big, so put two and two together and you get what I believe to be one really bad match. The only thing that will save this from being a total washout will be the fans. Because Punk is from Chicago I can only imagine how the crowd will react to him. And hopefully the reaction will not stop after his entrance but will continue through the match. I’m going with CM to retain.
Winner: CM Punk
Triple H. vs. Umaga
This could be a nice violent little match. I’m still waiting for Hunter to get back into the title picture, so this match like his match against Carlito is just another Raw match to me. Although I have to say that the brawl that these two had during Raw last week came off very well. I can’t see Hunter losing although I would love it if Mr. Kennedy….Kennedy interfered and cost Hunter the win and then we got a nice feud going with Hunter and Kennedy. But I will go with Hunter for the win and rumors have it that Umaga will be going to Smackdown. So could this be a one time pay per view match? I wouldn’t mind if it was.
Winner: Hunter
Punjabi Prison Match for the World Title – Batista vs. Khali
More than any thing I hope this is the end of the feud. It’s time to have each guy move on. I can’t wait to see what this contraception looks like live. Batista’s win in my opinion is a no brainer and I hope this turns out to be decent and exciting match.
Winner: Batista
WWE Championship Match
With John Cena out I think this is the match that the majority of the fans are waiting for. WWE has yet to announce the type of match it will be or who will participate, but I’m going with Randy Orton as the new WWE champion. Now the main rumor going around is focused on this one match. The big rumor is that Chris Jericho is showing up and could possibly face Orton for the title. How true this is I have no idea but I would love it if Y2J did appear. I was there live when Jericho made his debut on Raw in 1999, and I would love to say I was there when he made his long awaited return at No Mercy. With Cena out, WWE needs to do something big and hopefully No Mercy will end on a very positive note.
Winner: Randy Orton
So there you have my predictions. I just wish we would get a Jeff Hardy match, OR the Matt Hardy/MVP vs. Taker and Kane match that is scheduled for Smackdown next week. That was one match that I would have loved to have seen. Well I’m going to just chill and count the hours before I leave and as I said I plan to talk about the show tomorrow or Tuesday.
