WWE Legend Hulk Hogan to Host New American Gladiators on NBC
Source: TV Fodder
Maybe Hogan doesn’t know best after all. NBC just announced that the Hulkster will be back on primetime to host a remake of “American Gladiators.”
The reality competition is just another notch in NBC’s giant leather 80s belt, following remakes of “Bionic Woman” and the recent announcement of plans to revive “Knight Rider.” Hogan should fit quite nicely into their memorabilia case.
“Hulk Hogan is an American icon,” said Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment. Let’s not go crazy, Craig.
This will mark the first time that Hogan has hosted a series, but he’s no stranger to TV. The former WWE champion currently has his own reality series, “Hogan Knows Best,” on VH1.
“American Gladiators” is scheduled to premiere as a midseason replacement. No word has been given on an actual premiere date, although it’s expected to debut in early 2008. — Rachel Cericola
