I’m so happy to be back, and I want to thank you for all the beautiful online cards and emails that were sent to me after my mother died. I printed each one out and brought them to my father and brother, they too were as touched as I was. You guys have always been there for me and words really cannot express just what your emails meant to me. Now I had every intention of talking about a fairly good Raw last night, but with the news about John Cena’s injury I just wanted to focus on that situation.
Listen while I’m not a John Cena fan not even close to being one I find all of this very sad and very upsetting. With Cena maybe out 6-8 months and with No Mercy just days away the timing couldn’t have been worse and I’m wondering just like many of you who is going to be the next WWE champion. But before I get into that, I want to go back and talk about John Cena. After watching Raw last night and the total beat down that Cena suffered at the hands of Randy Orton, I just knew that Cena wasn’t losing on Sunday. And I won’t lie to you; the thought of Cena winning yet again against Randy Orton really pissed me off. But, and I will just say this once, I am not happy that Cena is out for several months, no matter how I feel about a wrestler I would never wish any type of injury on him or her. These men and women are playing characters, they are doing a job and I get no pleasure at all when one is injured.
I would have loved Cena to leave for several months because he had a WWE film to make, not because he’s having surgery for a very serious pectoral tear. I guess the reason I’m writing this is because two weeks ago I was at one of the main wrestling sites which will remain nameless and a few so called wrestling fans were upset with Triple H for taking out London and Kendrick. Oh they were so upset that these wonderful fans said things like, they wanted him to rip his quad again, or that they were hoping he would get seriously hurt so he could be away for a good year. This was like a pattern on that site. I couldn’t believe what I was reading even though that wasn’t the first time that I have seen things like that written about Hunter. So last night when WWE.com and other sites posted the injury it did anything but make me smile. I hope Cena can come back sooner than they are saying and the reaction to his return will definitely be deafening. And before I move on I have to give him MAJOR props for continuing the match against Mr. Kennedy….Kennedy and also for taking that huge beating from Randy Orton to close the show. I saw him holding that arm toward the end of the match. It did hit me that he must have injured it, but I didn’t know just how severe that injury was.
Now with the title stripped from John Cena I wonder who will walk out as the new WWE champion Sunday night. I am thinking either Randy Orton or Triple H. However, is there a chance that Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho could show up and get involved in the title picture with one of them leaving champion? I would say anything is possible now. If it was up to me, I would have Randy Orton win. The reason I feel this way is because Randy has really stepped up for this feud and as become one hell of a heel. His in ring work has been outstanding as well as his promo’s and I really would like him to become the new WWE champion. He’s my front runner for the title. If Orton isn’t the guy, then I would go with Hunter, or maybe a returning Chris Jericho. I really hope that we don’t see Umaga leave with the title. Supposedly Mark Henry is coming to Raw; if he is I sure hope he’s not going to replace Cena.
This is a big loss for WWE. And if they want to keep ratings up and Cena’s fans interested Vince will have to use his head and step back when it comes to being on TV and focus on so many from the Raw roster. Guys like Jeff Hardy, Kennedy, Benjamin and so on. Raw has some very good talent and if you bring in Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels Raw will be able to bring in decent ratings while John Cena is out. I will be back on Saturday with my No Mercy predictions. I have already started to get a few of yours, so keep them coming. I will leave you with the following; TheWrestlingVoice.com is having its annual voting for its Hall Of Fame.
