WWE Diva Search finalist Taryn Terrel recently took some time out of her scheduled to take part in an interview for www.PWMania.com. Taryn Terrel speaks on several topics from being a college cheerleader, posing for Playboy, winning the Diva Search, being a fan of WWE and much more. Below are some highlights of the interview:
Andy Steven: Hello Taryn Terrell, firstly I would like to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview for www.PWMania.com. What’s it like to be involved in the 2007 WWE Diva Search?
Taryn Terrell: It has been one of the best experiences of my life. To be a fan of something and then to switch over and actually become involved is a great feeling.
Andy Steven: Did you watch wrestling growing up? If so who were you favourite stars?
Taryn Terrell: Shawn Michaels…hands down. I actually started getting into wrestling about the time Michaels won the belt from Bret Hart at Wrestlemania.
Andy Steven: How did you hear about the Diva Search contest and what made you enter it?
Taryn Terrell: I received an email with this subject “Wanna Wrestle?” Being a wrestling fan and an athlete, I opened it immediately. The audition was in Las Vegas so I decided to take a “vacation” during the same time! I actually came down with the flu and lost my voice before the audition. I showed up with no voice but gave it all I had. I couldn’t believe it when they called me to tell me I made the top 50!!!
Andy Steven: You are a college cheerleader, are you looking forward to bringing your cheerleading skills into WWE, and what other skills could we be expecting from you?
Taryn Terrell: Being a college cheerleader is a lot more than just jumping around on the sidelines! It takes a lot of muscle control and strength. I can be thown 15 feet in the air while doing flips and land perfectly. I know that will definitely help in the ring. In cheerleading, I was a flier… which is the style of wrestling I enjoy the most and want to train extensively in. I have also competed in state and nationals in powerlifting. My max lifts were Bench: 110, Squat: 225, Deadlift: 275. Having that strength will help if I ever get the opportunity to have a match with the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!!
Andy Steven: Have you made any friendships with people in the WWE or any of the other Diva Search contestants?
Taryn Terrell: This is a competition and we all want to win. It’s hard to make friends at this point in the game. Plus, I didn’t come here to make friends, I came to win. Everyone within WWE has been amazing and I really thank them for this opportunity.
