Undertaker returns after being out for a few months and other than that I really don’t see this as being a major pay per view. Am I ordering it? Yeah I am, but the build up for this show has been weak at least on the Raw side. I feel that Smackdown did a very nice job with their Unforgiven hype Friday night, while Raw has spent too much time on the Vince McMahon illegitimate son angle. By the way Smackdown was a hell of a show. I was thrilled with many of the matches and if this wasn’t a prediction column I would have loved talking about the show. Okay let me give you my picks for tonight, and I’m warning you right now, I am going to do a horrible job. There are three matches that I know I will get right, but the rest I’m basically just guessing at, not that I don’t do that each month anyway, but this time there are no clues to help me pick the winners. I have to say it’s kind of fun really not knowing because if by chance I do better than I thought I will be ecstatic, but if I stink then my excuse is, oh this was just so unpredictable. Okay let me give you tonight’s predictions.
Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix (Women’s Championship Match)
See now everything tells me that Beth will win because of the major build up she’s been getting. However, I just don’t see Candice losing tonight. I could see a Phoenix win at No Mercy, but just not tonight. I’m not quite into the Glamazon, but I do enjoy watching Candice because of the way she’s improved in the ring. I’m giving this victory to Candice.
Winner: Candice
WWE Tag Team Championship Match – Matt Hardy/MVP vs. Deuce and Domino
This is a wild guess, but I say that D&D will regain the tag team titles. It is time to get MVP and Hardy’s feud back on track and for MVP to defend that U.S. title again. I can see tonight’s match ending with Hardy and MVP not working so well together and they will start the build I believe for No Mercy which will finally end this feud. Now Deuce and Domino have really looked good in their one on one matches against Hardy and MVP, and that goes for Matt and MVP as well against D&D. I look forward to watching this match and as I said hopefully this will kick off the Hardy/MVP feud for the U.S. title again.

World Tag Team Championship Match – London/Kendrick vs. Cade/Murdoch
Wow there are two tag team title matches on tonight’s card. How weird since the tag team titles rarely seem to be a part of a pay per view anymore. I’m staying with Cade/Murdoch only because London and Kendrick really just got into this feud. This should be a good match maybe not the match of the night, but a good one.
Winners: Cade/Murdoch
CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke (ECW Championship Match)
This is one of the three that I know I’m not losing. CM is winning, oh yes winning. There is no way that Elijah Burke will walk out champion, not with Punk just getting this title two weeks ago. Burke is a hell of a wrestler and along with Punk this could be one of the best matches of the night. Since ECW is represented with just this one match, I would love to see this booked well and for Punk and Burke to have a nice lengthy match, nothing rushed.
Winner: CM Punk
Triple H vs. Carlito
Now I am happy that these two are facing each other, however I wish this could have had a lot more build up and a lot more heat. This match favors Carlito with a No DQ just for him. This is the second match that I’m not losing because Hunter will win even with the odds favoring Carlito. This is another match that I feel will be good, but not spectacular.
Winner: Triple H
Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
The last match that I know I won’t lose. Taker wins, Taker wins. I saw these two live at WM22 and I was so impressed by the hard work that Taker put into the match. I am guessing that again he will work his ass off and I think Henry will give his all and with the live crowd behind Taker this should be a decent match with good fan reaction.
Winner: Undertaker
World Heavyweight Title – Rey Mysterio vs. Batista vs. Khali
Hey this is a long shot, but I’m going with Batista. Listen I really think Khali will win, and end up finally losing it to Taker. But after Batista got that deadly vice grip and Khali got the upper hand get it upper hand, I have to go with Dave. There is no way I see Rey winning but with Rey in here I’m guessing that he along with Batista will be doing most of the work. I really haven’t got a clue how this match will come off but I would say it should turn out to be a fairly good match.
Winner: Batista
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)
I am going with an Orton win on a DQ, but Cena will leave with the title. I guess I just don’t see this title coming off Cena until next years Wrestlemania, if even then. But back to back losses for Randy would do nothing for this rotten SOB who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. The feud has been very good because Orton has stepped up in a big way by giving some of his best promos ever. And because of the promo’s, his facials and his in ring work, he has become Raw’s top heel and deservedly so. And since the injury angle to his father, Cena has shown intensity and focus. He hasn’t talked in the last couple of weeks, well he’s kept his talking to a minimum and again in a good way, by lashing out at Vince, and see that’s all such a positive thing. We haven’t heard the crappy jokes and he hasn’t pandered to the fans. John Cena has come off like a guy who is just looking for pay back, and that’s what makes his character so much more appealing to watch. So I will go with Randy winning on a DQ and Cena will remain champion.

Hey after writing this I guess you could say I am more excited about watching the show that I was before. Keep your picks coming in and Tuesday I will be back with my thoughts on Unforgiven and Raw. Remember now that Hornswoggle is the new McMahon I predict even more time will be devoted to that angle and that’s not necessarily a good thing. They need to really focus on their pay per views and make non pay per view angles secondary. I will leave you with a request from a reader.
