All of the reviews that I’ve read about Hard Justice show it to be a great show. Probably something worth picking up on DVD when it’s released. The main event saw Kurt Angle walk away with all of the titles that he could possibly muster – the TNA World Championship, the IWGP World Championship, the X Division Championship, and the TNA World Tag Team Championship. And what better way to celebrate this gigantic accomplishment? With Angle Appreciation Night, of course!
I don’t understand why Pacman Jones’ debut means that Ron Killings has to be in a program against him. Seems a little, well…that’s another column for another site.
Can someone please do something with Mike Tenay? I mean the man may know a lot about professional wrestling, but he may have the worst mannerisms in the history of in-ring interviewers. What was the deal with his constant sneers at Pacman Jones during his brief few minutes to start off the show? He furls his brow way too much. Looks weird.
Side note, how ridiculously jacked up is Ron Killings?
Although I didn’t have my eye on the clock, I’m pretty sure that the first match didn’t take place until 20 or so minutes into the show. Do you smell the Russo booking here, folks? :o)
Tonight’s major impact moment for me has to be the Black Machismo vs. Christopher Daniels match. Not only was the action amazing, but it proved Jim Cornette’s point from earlier in the summer about there not being a glass ceiling in TNA.
Nice little segment between the Angles and Jim Cornette/Matt Morgan. My only complaint is that the segment was heavily produced, which you could see during the last scene before commercial when Kurt Angle suddenly went from being wrapped around Morgan to the other side of the ring being restrained. I just don’t like that type of stuff on my wrestling show.
Overall a decent show. The guys that I traditionally like watching I continued to enjoy on Impact tonight. But I could have done without the excessive non-wrestling segments tonight. Good set-up for a Kurt Angle vs. Abyss main event at No Surrender, though.
Quote of the Night:
“If I got beef, I eat it.” – Ron Killings telling Pacman Jones, ummm…something
“If we gonna be down, we gonna be down like four flat tires.” – Another Ron Killings/Pacman Jones interaction moment
“Two more cashews in this bowl of mixed nuts I’m running…” – Jim Cornette explaining his view of the TNA locker room!
