It’s a whodunnit WWE style.
An exploding stretch limo up in flames. A WWE boss, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, mourned as dead. Suspects questioned.
Ah, this is destined to be a ratings grabber. Given a bit of time to line up a cast of suspects, it hit me … geez, they wouldn’t put Bret Hart into a storyline, would they?
But as Stephanie McMahon stepped out of that limo and began her solemn march to the ring Monday night on RAW, it hit me.
Triple H. The Game.
Forget Mick Foley, Bobby Lashley, John Cena, Shawn Michaels or any of the laundry list of others who had motive to “kill” McMahon. For crying out loud, it was Triple H who did the deed. He planted the bomb, then sat in the grassy knoll, snickering as his father-in-law … er, boss … went up in flames.
Sidelined early this year with a torn quadriceps, Triple H is hoping to participate in this year’s Summer Slam. But his TV return could be soon, perhaps to be revealed as a murderer.
Innocent until proven guilty. Well, until they find a sledgehammer at the scene of the crime.
And let’s just hope, with apologies to Katie Vick, that this is one corpse The Game doesn’t want to sleep with.
IT’S ANGLE TIME: Kurt Angle won the TNA championship at last Sunday’s SLAMMIVERSARY pay-per-view, winning the King of the Mountain match. Other results: Jay Lethal won the X Division title over Chris Sabin; Rhino and Senshi beat LAX; Frank Wycheck and Jerry Lynn beat James Storm and Ron (The Truth) Killings; Mr. Backlund beat Alex Shelley; Voodoo Kin Mafia beat Basham and Damaja; Eric Young beat Robert Roode; Team 3D beat Rick Steiner and Road Warrior Animal; and Abyss beat Tomko. Lethal lost his X Division title to Samoa Joe at the IMPACT tapings two nights later. In other TNA news, Konnan and Ron Killings both quit, reportedly to wrestle in Mexico.
FEEL THE DRAFT: Fifteen more wrestlers were shifted in WWE’s supplemental draft last Sunday. On the move: Paul London and Brian Kendrick (to RAW); Kenny Dykstra (to SMACKDOWN!); Viscera (to ECW); The Sandman (to RAW); Hardcore Holly (to SMACKDOWN!); The Miz (to ECW); Daivari (to RAW); The Major Brothers (to SMACKDOWN!); William Regal (to RAW); Victoria (to SMACKDOWN!); Jillian Hall (to RAW); Eugene (to SMACKDOWN!); and Johnny Nitro (to ECW).
AROUND THE RING: RAW will be three hours long on Monday and you can bet the investigation into Mr. McMahon’s death heats up.
