RICHMOND, Va. — Still coming to grips over the presumed death of Mr. McMahon, and preparing for a federal investigation regarding the former WWE Chairman’s limousine explosion, the McMahon family today officially placed Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman in charge of Raw on an interim basis.
The choice is a logical one in the eyes of many WWE employees, especially since Coachman has been the deceased’s personal right-hand man since May 2006. Throughout the past year, Mr. McMahon had granted Coachman with the power and authority to run the WWE flagship on numerous occasions, though questionable decision-making had often made him a target of criticism from both our fans and several Raw staff members.
“It has been a trying time for everyone here, and I certainly understand the McMahons’ decision,” claimed one training room insider. “I hope ‘Coach’ is up for the job, because he has the brains to do it. Unfortunately, his ego sometimes gets in the way, and it really alienates him from some of the Superstars in the locker room.”
Coachman’s interim Raw appointment begins in Virginia’s Richmond Coliseum, tonight at 9/8 CT on USA Network.
