The following is taken from the local Wilkes-Barre newspaper…who don’t seem to get the joke about Vince McMahon being “dead.”
I know I said that yesterday’s Mid-Day Note would have my final thoughts about Vince McMahon, but the e-mails and phone calls keep rolling in asking where the funeral will be held, what hospital he is in, etc.
And then this — Staff Writer Rory Sweeney receives a voice mail from someone claiming to be a WWE employee who states emphatically that Vince McMahon is indeed dead.
OK, people, for the final time, I don’t know Vince McMahon’s health status right now. But one thing I can state (again) with absolute certainty is that he did not die in an exploding limo at Wachovia Arena on Monday night. In fact, there was no limo explosion Monday night at the arena.
So please, let’s just let this story die a peaceful death. I never thought anything would make me long for the days when “Survivor” was the only thing everyone wanted to talk about.
