Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling News 6/7: Fallout from last Sunday’s “Hot Summer Night”
HOT NEWS STORIES COMING OUT OF THIS PAST SUNDAY
BLUE MEANIE WINS TITLE, CHANGES NIGHT OF LEGENDS CAGE MATCH…
When the announcement was made that the 6’8 300+ pound Jason Bane would receive an opportunity at the CAPW Heavyweight Title inside a 15 foot high solid steel cage at CAPW‘s “Night of Legends“ on August 5, everyone jumped to the conclusion that Bane would finally get his hands on the man that had crushed Bane’s championship hopes throughout the entire year of 2007: The “Wild Eyed Southern Boy” Tracy Smothers. However, this past Sunday at the famed Turner’s Hall in Cleveland, Tracy Smothers’ ten-plus year rivalry with fellow ECW Original The Blue Meanie ended in a shocking title win, as Da Blue Guy dethroned Smothers as CAPW Heavyweight Champion, thanks in large part to, of all people, Jason Bane, who had lost his Television Title thanks to Smothers a month before. This shocking event has thrown CAPW’s Night of Legends into disarray, as the main event is now tentatively signed to be The Blue Meanie vs. Jason Bane inside the steel cage for the CAPW Title!
…AND TRACY SMOTHERS HAS LOST HIS RABID-ASS MIND!
Moments following being defeated by The Blue Meanie, Tracy Smothers was a different man. Not the dancing, obnoxious, antagonizing master of human psychology we see in the ring, Tracy Smothers had gone completely off the deep end, and there is no other way to describe his state of mind other than “unstable”. Smothers was overheard causing a huge commotion in the locker room area, destroying several thousand dollars worth of property, and blatantly threatening CAPW officials & staff members. Smothers was overheard to be DEMANDING to be added back into the Steel Cage Match on August 5th to reclaim his title and get his hands on both The Meanie and Bane. When he was informed of the news he would be offered an opportunity at the CAPW Tag Team Titles instead, Tracy became even more irate, and demanded an opportunity at BOTH championships!
Due to legal ramifications surrounding this controversial incident, CAPW officials are currently meeting with their team of lawyers to determine if this footage is suitable for air, in full or at least in part. We are still trying to piece together the chaotic string of events that took place in the moments following last Sunday’s live event and exactly how they will impact our Steel Cage match August 5 at the Plain Dealer Pavilion. Check back with us next week for an update on this matter.
ALEX SHELLEY SENDS A MESSAGE TO JOHNNY GARGANO
Johnny Gargano had refused to accept Alex Shelley’s challenge for a rematch on August 5, citing the fact Gargano had already won his Best of Three series against Shelley 2-1, therefore Shelley was “not in his league”. With the ego of Gargano riding higher than ever before, he would soon be humbled by a man he had never seen before in his life. During his match with Metal Master this past Sunday, Gargano spotted a suspicious individual in the crowd. Someone wearing an Alex Shelley T-shirt and closely monitoring the match through the lens of a camera. As Gargano questioned the man, the message was now clear: Alex Shelley had given a “Paparazzi Cam” to a flunky, and sent him to both scout, and send a message to, his rival Gargano. The plan paid off, as Gargano was too pre-occupied with Shelley’s messenger to focus on the match, and he was abruptly pinned by The Metal Master, causing him to slip several steps backward in the Jr. Title division rankings.
After the match, in footage to air exclusively on an upcoming edition of Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling TV on Sports Time Ohio, Gargano would agree to step back into the ring with Alex Shelley, but it would have to be a tag team match. Gargano was quick to name his recent ally Josh Prohibition as his tag team partner. But the 19-year-old prodigy did not count on Shelley’s counter move… Alex Shelley’s partner would be TNA X Division Champion Chris Sabin! August 5, Alex Shelley gets one more shot to humble Gargano in the ring, and this time he’s not coming alone.
AFTERMATH QUALIFIES FOR JR. TITLE MATCH
After an impressive showing that saw him defeat both Jason Gory and M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross this past Sunday, CAPW management have deemed Aftermath worthy to challenge for the CAPW Jr. Heavyweight Title. However, as if that wasn’t enough of a high-pressure situation, CAPW management also decreed it would take place at CAPW’s biggest event ever. Sunday afternoon August 5, The Aftermath joins the man from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Shark Boy, as well as current reigning Jr. Heavyweight Champion the honorable and disciplined Super Hentai for a Triple Threat Junior Heavyweight Title Match!
