John Cena, reigning champion of World Wrestling Entertainment, has some issues with Tony Stewart’s recent comparison of NASCAR racing to professional wrestling.
Cena, who has biceps the size of a gas can, is learning to drive a stock car as one of the celebrity participants in “Fast Cars & Superstars — Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race,” which will air its first installment June 7 on ABC.
“That’s one where I agreed to disagree with Tony Stewart,” Cena said.
“I agree with him that the fans are about the most passionate group I’ve ever seen, like our fans who follow us on the road 250 days a year. They religiously follow their favorites. They are so loyal.
“Where I disagree is he thinks NASCAR is sports entertainment. In the WWE, we are entertainment through athletics. We make great television. Tony is a helluva driver, but he has a helluva attitude. His comments were made out of frustration.”
