Judgment Day is another pay per view I won’t be ordering. Hey it doesn’t mean that I’m doing the right thing. After all look how good Backlash turned out. In fact I will be watching a pay per view tonight. While Judgment Day is going on I will be watching Backlash. My friend Molly sent me a copy of the show. And after each Backlash match I will be checking the results from Judgment Day, so tonight I’m looking forward to watching Backlash and keeping up with the results from Judgment Day. Of course Judgment Day will offer a few good matches and I’m sure it won’t be a total dud. Let me give you my predictions and don’t forget keep sending me your picks.
Carlito vs. Ric Flair
This is a match like the Shawn Michaels/Orton match that got such little build. Of course with Carlito and Ric Flair we have seen something going on with them since before Wrestlemania, but unfortunately Vince didn’t feel the need to showcase these two guys at that pay per view and they weren’t even given a match at Backlash, so all of a sudden here they are tonight. Well with Flair in there and Carlito back as a hell, I would imagine this will be a pretty decent match. I also see Carlito winning and I’m thinking that Carlito might just go ballistic on Flair after the match.
Winner: Carlito
Elijah Burke vs. CM Punk
We had about two weeks on ECW with a really nice storyline going with both of these men. And so often just when things seem to be going so damn well, it’s all taken away, and the angle is dead. And that’s just what happened here. To make matters worse, there was absolutely no interaction between CM and Burke on Tuesday’s ECW. This is what I call a joke and I have a bad feeling that these guys that were supposedly going to get the push of their lives are going to have to rush their match. And because of this the live crowd and the viewers at home are not going to see just what these two are capable of doing. For me, there is not a clear winner so I’m just going to go with Burke. I figure because he’s a heel and he will do anything and everything he can to win.
Winner: Burke
Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
You want to know what I think? I think this will be the match of the night. I really do. And I think we will see a rematch at Vengeance. That is if Khali and Cena are going to take their feud to that pay per view. I could see Orton beating Shawn tonight, only because WWE is really playing up the concussion angle. And then Shawn would defeat Orton at Vengeance. However, you do know the rumors have it that Orton is in such hot water with Vince that he’s not going to be on a winning streak for a very long time. But whether he is in the dog house or not, I guess I feel that Shawn has been on a pay per view losing streak and it’s time for things to turn around. So I will go with HBK for the win.
Winner: Shawn Michaels
(Side Note – www.wrestlingobserver.com is reporting that Shawn’s knee is in bad shape and that tonight or tomorrow night will be the last time he’s on for a while. He will have surgery as soon as possible.) Okay even with that news which I am unhappy about, because Raw without Shawn and Hunter is not something that I’m looking forward too, but I will stay with Shawn for the win and now I’m guessing that tonight they will have Orton take out HBK and do an injury angle which will explain why Shawn is off TV.
ECW World Champion Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon & Umaga vs. Bobby Lashley (3-on-1 Handicap Rematch)
Winner: Lashley
2-out-of-3 Falls Match – United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. MVP
This is going to be another terrific match. And I am 100 percent sure that this time MVP is going to beat Chris Benoit. MVP and Chris work so well together and you can bet that the crowd will be into this one.
Winner: MVP
World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Batista
It is still sad that the Undertaker is out, but at least Batista has a very worthy opponent tonight. There is no way Edge is going to lose and I really can’t wait to find out how this match turns out. Batista has been on a roll since the Taker feud, so I’m anxious to see if he and Edge have chemistry. I think it’s a given that the crowd will love this one because Edge knows how to get the crowd going, so this could turn out to be a really good match.
Winner: Edge
WWE Champion John Cena vs. The Great Khali
Now come on if Cena beats Khali aren’t most of you going to say, gee no one else could do it but super hero Cena did it. Or if Khali beats Cena aren’t many of you going to hit your forehead and say NO NO NO? I know I will. So to me this is a lose lose situation. I can’t even tell you what I see happening here because I don’t even want to hurt my brain trying to make sense of all of this. Either, Cena wins, or Khali wins on a DQ but Cena leaves as champion. I’ll go with a Cena win.
Winner: Cena
Granted there aren’t many top matches on this card, but hell anything can happen and sometime the worst matches can turn out to be the best ones. I know a few of you will be there tonight and I am sure you will have a great time. And if you are ordering the show I really do hope you enjoy it. I would love to hear your thoughts on how the show was. I will be back on Tuesday with my Raw thoughts.
