Last year at this time I was in my glory not only attending Wrestlemania but being a part of all the weekend festivities. But even though I will be watching Wrestlemania at home I’m still very excited about seeing the show. I have to be very honest with you with the exception of one match; I have no clue at all who will win each match on Sunday. This has to be one of the most difficult pay per views to predict and let’s face it I am in such a slump with my predictions that a good showing tomorrow night would be awesome, but I’m not expecting that. Now before I go into my picks I want to share something wonderful with all of you. Last Wednesday I was interviewed on WJR radio from Detroit. This was just so much fun and the DJ Lloyd Jackson was such a doll and made me feel like a real wrestling expert, and we all know that takes a lot. Seriously I had a blast and I can’t thank Lloyd and Lloyd’s producer Rosanna enough for asking me to be on Lloyd’s show. So if any of you would like to hear the interview just go to http://www.wjr.com/article.asp?id=378819&spid=7688. Now on with my predictions
Women’s Championship Match – Melina vs. Ashley – LumberJill Match
I will keep this short, I’m staying with Melina and let’s just say this match will be I’m sure what most of us expect, not the best, yet with all the divas out there hopefully it will be somewhat entertaining.
Winner: Melina
Kane vs. Khali
I would love for them to keep this as short as possible. I really have enjoyed watching these two go at it a few minutes at a time. And I believe with Kane using the hook and the two of them just beating the hell out of each other for a few minutes that’s all it will take to keep the fans interested. I’m giving Khali the win, well I can see this being a no contest, but I will stick with Khali as the winner.
Winner: Khali
ECW Originals vs. The New Breed
If and I say “if” I had any interest in this one, I guess you could say I lost it when I read rumor after rumor that the New Breed would go over and this match would be the beginning of the end of these ECW guys. Let’s face it Vince has gotten rid of so many from ECW and it is pretty obvious that his “new” breed guys are getting the push. I could see RVD and the others having less and less TV time. In fact if you believe the rumors RVD’s days might be just about over with the WWE. So I’m going with the New Breed, and really with the exception of Matt Striker I like the other members. But I don’t like them enough to want to see Dreamer, RVD, Sandman and Sabu have to job to them.
Winners: New Breed
United States Championship Match – Chris Benoit vs. MVP
I am not happy about MVP being a part of Wrestlemania. I feel Carlito, Johnny Nitro, Ric Flair, London/Kendrick and a few others should have had a spot on the show. And speaking of Carlito this man is HOT and I don’t mean in a sexy way. He did an article for The Edmonton Sun http://www.edmontonsun.com/Sports/OtherSports/2007/03/31/3879489-sun.html and he doesn’t sugar coat a thing. Anyway MVP is another one that is getting pushed way too soon and it’s not against him because I do think in time he can prove himself but not just now. I know there’s a rumor that Benoit is moving to Raw so he will lose the belt tomorrow night. And while I could see that I’m going to stay with Chris and hope that he wins tomorrow night and loses it somewhere down the line to MVP. I know Benoit will work his ass off and I’m sure because of that this will also be MVP’s best match to date.
Winner: Chris Benoit
Money In The Bank Match – Booker T. vs. CM Punk vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Mr. Kennedy….Kennedy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Fit Finlay
I believe this will be the match of the night. Last year this match was excellent and now with the Hardy’s in here I expect this baby to be even better that last years. I cannot wait to see this and with Edge being out for the past few weeks with that jaw injury I wonder just how ready he is for this one. If he’s near 100 percent than look out because he is a pro when it comes to ladder matches. I am going with Mr. Kennedy for the win, I just have a feeling that he’s in for a push. My second choice would be Edge, but I don’t see Edge taking it again.
Winner: Mr. Kennedy
Battle of the Billionaires – Lashley vs. Umaga with Stone Cold as special Ref
Thank God for Austin. I haven’t made a secret about how I feel about all the hype that this feud has gotten. You would think this is THE MAIN match for Wrestlemania. Yeah it’s so important that I see on the sites that Trump was on David Letterman’s last night and never mentioned Wrestlemania once. Plus he’s telling radio listeners to watch the Apprentice tomorrow night instead of Wrestlemania. Well if he’s not into all of this then why should I be? Austin is going to really add to the match and I believe Lashley will win; in fact this is the only match where I feel 100 percent sure about. And I think Trump might start off shaving Vince’s head but its going to be Austin that gets the last laugh on McMcMahon.
Winner: Lashley
World Heavyweight Title – Batista vs. Undertaker
At first I was all set to go with Batista, but then I started to think that Taker would win, BUT I changed my mind again and had every intention of going with Batista. But after watching a very good Smackdown last night, I’m going with Undertaker and Taker’s streak. I feel very comfortable about my decision. I know the majority of the fans are going to be behind Taker all the way. And I figure should Dave win then that man will be pay heavily for stopping the streak. And by that I mean I think a Batista win would automatically turn Batista heel. Yeah I believe the majority of the fans would not take too kindly to a Taker loss. I am guessing that the fans are really going to help make this a cool match to watch.
Winner: Taker
WWE Championship – John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels
Talk about déjà vu? John Cena again is getting booed like crazy, just like last year against Triple H. And again, Cena has held on to the title for a long time. So is history going to repeat itself and Shawn will lose and maybe even tap out like Hunter did last year? OR is this the Wrestlemania where Cena goes home without the belt? Now I know I talked about this last week, I want HBK to win not because he’s against Cena but because this man deserves another title reign. Michaels wrestles like every match he’s in is of great importance. I want to see Cena lose, and chase the belt and make things interesting. As much as I want all of this, I’m still going with a Cena for the win. I just don’t see Vince taking that title off of him. However after the boos Cena got in Chicago and then at the New York Press conference I could maybe see a Cena loss, but I will pick Cena and this is the match that I really cannot wait to see.
Winner: John Cena
