Listen are you ready for me to do some bitching again? Hell I’m pretty good at it and after watching Smackdown I have two things that I feel I have to vent about. Now don’t get me wrong the show was good in so many ways. My favorite match was the Undertaker vs. Finlay. I thought this was a hell of a hard worked match by Taker and Finlay. Hard worked and very entertaining. Again there was very little that didn’t work for me last night, but unfortunately what really bugged me kind of took a lot a way from the show, at least for me it did. Hopefully when I do my Raw thoughts on Tuesday venting won’t even be a part of the column.
What pissed me off so much last night? How about the first hour and fifteen minutes of recap after video recap of Vince and the Hair vs. Hair match. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but I swear there’s this World Championship match with John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels. But did we get a Raw recap with Michaels and Cena? No we did not, what we got was Vince McMahon again saying that he is the top act for Wrestlemania. And that’s something that just angers me so much. It didn’t matter if Vince wasn’t there in person just having his video’s shown over and over again and then the Lashley video was more than I could take. Sure I might be over reacting, but come on I’m not ordering the pay per view for this angle, in fact the way this angle is being shoved down our throats, I’m wondering why I’m even bothering ordering Wrestlemania.
I just found all of this so pathetic that JBL and Cole had to mention Vince, Trump and all of this on Smackdown. I would have rather have seen a match with London/Kendrick, or Chavo Guerrero defending his title maybe against Jimmy Wang Yang or Helms. My point is Smackdown has a lot of good young talent why not give them the time that all of these recaps took. And just seeing McMahon take over a good portion of Smackdown really makes me dread this week’s Raw. Listen maybe I’m just jealous of Vince. I wish I LOVED myself and had the ego that Vince has. I’ve said this so many times in the past, Vinny Mac is Vinny Mac’s number one fan. All that matters to him is being the whole show on every show. Well his thinking is really taking so much away from the top matches at Wrestlemania 23.
I hope I haven’t pulled a Vince McMahon, by shoving my hostilities down your throats and made many of you stop reading. Well if you are still here which I hope you are my last big rant has to do with JBL, Michael Cole and I believe Vince McMahon again. This is about Michael Cole constantly asking JBL questions about what is going on during a match. Let me explain this better. I am so sick and tired of Cole going to “wrestling expert” JBL and asking him questions. For instance something like this. “JBL you’ve been in this type of match so many times tell me what is going through so and so’s mind?” This is starting to happen so often that last night I was ready to turn off the sound. I don’t feel this is something that Cole is doing on his own, and here’s where Vince comes in. I think this is Vince’s doing because JBL and Vince are so tight, that I truly believe that McMahon wants Bradshaw to look like the smartest and wisest guy in the business. I find this beyond obnoxious and annoying. It is just so un-natural that is doesn’t fit at all.
The King Jerry Lawler every now and then will put something out there about what something might feel like during a match, and when he does it comes off extremely personal and real. This is not the case and while I’m on the subject of JBL, I am so tired of hearing him insult LOUDLY Michael Cole. I am not happy with JBL behind the mic anymore, but who am I? He’s not going anywhere and it’s just something I have to put up with OR as I said turn the sound off. I think JBL has this smart ass side to him and too often that’s the JBL you hear on TV. I totally understand that he’s a heel and that’s why the big negative mouth, but I really feel Bradshaw could be a very good color man if he stopped being such a bully. The more he talks the more I wish Tazz was back on Smackdown.
With that I will say THANK YOU for letting me get this off my chest. Finally I mentioned that I wanted to tell you about something that supposedly is going to happen on Smackdown and this something I saw coming months ago. It’s not often when I’m right about something but supposedly Vickie Guerrero WILL be the new GM on SD. I believe it will be happening soon. I figured this is where the Krystal/Vickie thing was going when Krystal kept coming on to Theodore Long. They will probably say he’s the one that’s coming on to Krystal and he’s not fit to be the GM. Well whatever they use Long will be out of his GM job according to the rumor. Okay I will be back with my Raw thoughts and with the exception of that one angle that I just wrote about today I am looking forward to seeing how the Cena/Michaels angle evolves. I can’t wait to see the Orton vs. Carlito vs. Flair MIB qualifying match. And I’m sure Steve Austin will make things worth watching during the signing with Trump and McMahon. Here’s hoping Vince doesn’t dominate Raw. Yeah like that’s going to happen.
