I haven’t been gone long, yet it feels like years. You have all been so wonderful with your emails and thoughts about my mother and inquiring about my ankle. To update you my mother again rallied a few days after I wrote my last column. She is able to eat again, which means her caregiver is back to feeding her and she is somewhat alert. After talking to one of the hospice nurses I found out that this is all common where the patient can improve and then go down again, so I guess you could say we are just taking this day by day now. As far as my ankle goes, I tore a tendon, OUCH, and it still hurts. I started physical therapy and will continue twice a week for the next three weeks. The orthopedic surgeon isn’t ruling out surgery, but he’s hoping that rehab will do the trick. I have been so anxious to get a column going after watching another OUTSTANDING RAW AND SMACKDOWN. This week not only did WWE deliver but the Portland, Oregon crowd at Raw and the Seattle, Wa. crowd at Smackdown were just fantastic, and believe me that is an understatement. I am so into the Taker/Batista feud and the Shawn Michaels/Cena feud that the next Raw and Smackdown can’t come soon enough for me. But because tonight is No Way Out I’m making this my prediction column. It takes guts to come back with me giving you my picks for tonight. Not only has Raw and Smackdown won me over, but tonight’s show is a show that I have already ordered. This is one pay per view that I can’t wait to see. There are two matches that sold me on tonight’s show and I tell you about them toward the end. Okay get ready here are my No Way Out predictions.
Cruiserweight Open -Gregory Helms defends the cruiserweight title against Funaki, Scotty 2 Hotty, Shannon Moore, Daivari, Jimmy Wang Yang and Jamie Noble
This match was made at the last minute, and while I’m thrilled that it was booked I have a feeling it won’t go on too long which in turn won’t let all of us see each one of these guys do their thing and really make this a high flying fast paced match. Part of me feels like Helms will finally lose which is only fitting since he’s held on to this title for over a year. Yet the other part of me feels he will remain champion since there hasn’t been any type of feud going against Helms to get us ready for this match. Okay I really have no idea who the winner will be, but I will stick with Helms. I’m hoping this will turn out to be a good match. By the way I am puzzled why Chavo is in this unless he becomes the new cruiserweight champion, which I wouldn’t rule out.
Winner: Gregory Helms
Finlay & Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman & Little Boogeyman
I hope no one is taking this match seriously. We now have a mini Boogeyman, whom I thought had a lot of Boogeyman’s action down pretty well. By adding the Little Bastard and Little Boogeyman to this match you have to think that this will not be a classic wrestling match, just one hopefully filled with humor. I’m going with Finlay and Little Bastard for the win, and I just wonder if this feud is going to continue, for Finlay’s sake I hope not.
Winners: Finlay and Little Bastard
Diva Talent Invitational
Every diva from Smackdown, Raw and ECW will be in this one. Let’s face it this won’t be the show stealer, and it’s quite possible that this will be the worst segment of the show, but I will be waiting to hear that wonderful singer Jillian do her best to win this competition and believe me she’s not winning. I’m giving the win to Ashley because it’s her time with her Playboy pictorial coming out.
Winner: Ashley
Kane vs. Booger T
I laughed and laughed with King Booker and Sharmell making fun of Kane’s movie this week on Smackdown. I thought it was a cool segment and Kane at the end coming out from the curtain definitely added to all of this. I’m looking forward to the match, as I said a few weeks ago Kane is so much more enjoyable to watch on Smackdown and I think these two will give us a good match. The winner isn’t exactly predictable to me, so I will just toss a coin and go with Booker T.
Winner: Booker T
ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. Kennedy
Right not I can tell you with Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy in here this match will probably be one of Lashley’s best matches to date. There is no way Lashley will lose, but I can guarantee you that Kennedy will do his best to make the crowd think there is an upset in the making. Lashley has worked his ass off against Bob Holly and because of what Lashley has shown us I really think that this will be a decent match.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
WWE Tag Team Championship – London and Kendrick vs. Deuce and Domino
Granted London and Kendrick haven’t held on to their titles as long as Helms, but they have held on to it since last May. But like Helms I don’t see a loss for them quite yet, only because Deuce and Domino have beaten them a few times in tag teams and in singles matches, so I’m giving the win to London and Kendrick. With London and Kendrick in here you know this will turn out to be an exciting match to watch.
Winners: London and Kendrick
Chris Benoit and The Hardy’s vs. MNM and MVP
Okay Chris Benoit, the Hardy’s and MNM are one of the reasons why I chose to order the show. Last week on WWE.com they posted that there would me a Ladder rematch with the Hardy’s, MNM, London and Kendrick, and Regal and Taylor. Well just to see this match with London/Kendrick, MNM and the Hardy’s again thrilled me so I was all set to order the show. And then a few days later WWE changed the match and made the London/Kendrick vs. Deuce and Domino match. So I was thinking about not ordering the show. Taking away the Ladder match was a big let down for me. But Friday this Benoit/Hardy’s match against MNM and MVP was made and I thought, that’s good enough for me. Now let me say this. I don’t think MVP belongs here, and I don’t think MVP belonged in Raw’s main event Monday or in the Smackdown match with Kennedy against Cena and Michaels on Friday night. I see this man getting a push that he just isn’t ready for. But he’s lucky to be working with all the other wrestlers tonight, and I just have a feeling this could be one of the very best matches of the show. I’m going out on a limb and picking MNM and MVP for the win, because the Hardy’s have kind of dominated Nitro and Mercury in most of the matches.
Winners: MNM and MVP
World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Undertaker vs. WWE Champion John Cena & HBK
This is the match that I cannot wait to watch. Have you all noticed how Undertaker has stepped up and along with the Heartbreak Kid have ruled Raw and Smackdown? Vince took his two veterans, Taker and Michaels, put them in the title picture at Wrestlemania and because of this these two guys have brought the best out in Batista and Cena. I am so into both title matches and right now even more into the duo of Batista and Taker. I think they have just been working so well together and I can’t wait to see how things play out tonight against Cena and Michaels. And then you have Shawn and Cena watching each others back but you still can see a little bit of heel in Shawn. All he wants is that WWE title and he’s not looking to be friends with Cena. Creative and Vince McMahon have done such an awesome job with both feuds and tonight you just watch all hell break lose between Taker and Batista, and Cena and Michaels toward the end of the match. This should end the show on one very upbeat note. I’m going with Taker and Batista for the win.
Winners: Undertaker and Batista
Well there you have my picks. In two and a half hours Now Way Out will be on. I have my popcorn already to go. Thank you all for sending me your predictions and keep them coming I promise I will get to all of them. I will do my best to have a Raw/No Way Out column but it might not be until Wednesday. With physical therapy Tuesday after work I just might not feel like posting anything, but I will do my best to get something out by Wednesday. I’m going to leave you with a couple of requests. I missed Fridays SMACKDOWN. It was the Feb 9 2007 edition. I really want to see it so if you know anyone who has it that I could get a copy of it from could you please get the word out? It’s much appreciated whitemorpheus@charter.net.
I was wondering if anyone who reads your column possibly perused or used the site ecw666.cjb.net, because I heard of it recently and tried to go to it to find that it did not seem to lead to the website. Does anyone know if it has possibly been deleted or moved? Thanks!! kaneannite821@gmail.com
