iMPACT! starts and we get a shot of a city hall where Sting has learned what Abyss’ secret and we learn that he is planning on announcing it later in the broadcast.
After the intro, Samoa Joe comes down to the ring to answer the question everyone is asking – Why did he help Kurt Angle last week? He says he wouldn’t help Kurt if his car was about to be hit by a train. He wants to face Kurt again, but he wants it be for the NWA World Title, so he is going to be the unofficial guest enforcer at Against All Odds. Kurt Angle then comes down to tell Joe not to interfere in his title match or he’ll break Joe’s ankle. Christian Cage and Tomko then arrive to tell Angle that Joe isn’t his consultant, but that Cage is also a great liar. Tomko then goes to the announcers’ desk to say that changes are coming and it may start with the announcing.
In Jim Cornette’s office, Cornette tells Raven that he is getting a paycheck and that he will earn one starting tonight when he faces Rhino. With that, Rhino enters the ring but before Raven enters, he sends the rest of Serotonin to the ring to attack Rhino. As Rhino tears through Serotonin, Raven enters and hits Rhino in the face with a kendo stick and to reveal himself to be AJ Styles in disguise. AJ then hits Rhino with the kendo stick once more, followed by a chair shot.
In another Paparazzi Productions video, we follow Jeremy Borash and Eric Young to a local convenience store where Eric is trying to buy condoms. Yet, he’s really embarrassed about buying them, especially the extra small ones. The door to the store then opens where James Storm and his band of drunkards are out buying more beer. Storm and crew made sure to make fun of Eric the entire time, including telling JB and EY to have fun with the condoms later that night. Robert Roode is then shown watching the video with Ms. Brooks and he tells her that she has until next week to sign Eric to Robert Roode Inc.
Back from the break and our next bout is a non-title four way between Chris Sabin vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Senshi vs. Austin Starr. Early in the match Sabin and Starr take turns beating down Senshi until Sabin gets cocky and lets Senshi tag in Jerry Lynn. Senshi and Starr then brawl to the outside of the ring as Sabin tries to go for a Cradle Shock on Lynn. Somehow Lynn is able to counter the move into a Sunset Flip and gets the 3 count on the champ.
Leticia is backstage with the Voodoo Kin Mafia. BG James wants to extend his apologies to Christy Hemme for the way Kip treated her. Kip interrupts and says that women have no right or business being in the ring.
Sting is now coming down to the ring to reveal Abyss’ secret. He says that it was hard to fathom what Abyss did. He knows that Abyss will go off on him if he tells the world the truth, but he is willing to sacrifice himself in order to help Abyss. Sting says that Abyss shot a man three times in the back. The man lived, but it turns out that the man was Abyss’ father. Abyss runs down and manhandles Sting. The battle goes into the crowd and eventually leads into the backstage area where James Mitchell is waiting. Once Sting is disoriented, Mitchell comes from behind a wall and throws his infamous fireball into Stings face.
As an ambulance brings Sting to the hospital, our main even begins as the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels takes on the NWA Champion Christian Cage. In the middle of the match, Samoa Joe takes a chair and sits down ringside to watch the match. Borash comes down to ask Joe why he is here and Joe says “To prove a point to Kurt Angle.” Daniels is able to lock in the Koji Clutch, but Tomko enters the ring to distract the referee. Joe enters as well to chase Tomko off. Daniels gets frustrated about what is happening and breaks the hold –only to be met with a low blow from Christian Cage. Cage is then able to give Daniels the Unprettier and the pinfall.
As Cage leaves the ring, he takes Joe’s towel and drapes it around his neck, followed by a big thumbs up to Joe. Kurt Angle comes to the ring to confront Joe about what just transpired. The two stand face to face as iMPACT! ends.
