We begin tonight’s show with a look back at highlights from Bobby Lashley’s title defense against Rob Van Dam last week on ECW, including the finish that saw both men down by the announce table.
We are live from Peoria, Illinois and your announcers are Tazz, Joey ‘Will it play here’ Styles, and Brad ‘BG who’ Armstrong.
We see highlights of past Punk/Holly matches including Punk making Holly tap after their match four weeks ago and CM Punk unable to make Holly tap in three minutes three weeks ago.
Match Number One: CM Punk versus Bob Holly
Punk with a kick and forearms to Holly followed by more kicks. Punk with a shoulder tackle followed by an arm drag. Punk tries for the Anaconda Vice, but Holly makes it to the ropes. Punk with a snap mare and drop kick to the head for a two count. Punk with an Irish whip, but he charges into a boot. Holly charges at Punk, but Punk with a power slam and Punk tries for the Anaconda Vice again. Holly is able to get out of the hold with a rake of the eyes. Punk with a kick to Holly and a clothesline that sends Holly over the top rope to the floor. Punk tries for the suicide dive, but Holly moves out of the way and Punk hits the floor hard. Holly rolls Punk into the ring and he kicks Punk. Holly with a snap mare and leg drop but he can only get a two count. Holly with a reverse chin lock. Holly with a running back elbow to Punk and then he connects with forearms across Punk’s chest. Holly chokes Punk in the ropes and then he slams Punk. Holly goes up to the second turnbuckle for a leg drop and he connects, but he can only get a two count. Holly with an Irish whip, but Punk gets to the turnbuckles and he hits a diving shoulder tackle and both men are down. Punk and Holly exchange punches, but Punk gets the advantage. Holly tries for a suplex, but Punk with a knee to Holly’s head followed by a springboard cross body for a two count. Punk with a drop kick and Irish whip followed by a running clothesline. Punk comes off the ropes and Holly with a drop kick for a two count. Punk with a series of slaps and knees. Punk tries for the running knee into the corner, but Holly blocks it and he hot shots Punk and then he sends Punk shoulder first into the ring post. Holly with the Alabama Slam for the three count.
Winner: Bob Holly
Test is in the back and referee Mickey Henson informs Test that his match is next. Test tells Henson that he shouldn’t even be having this match. He says that it might be okay for people like Mickey to be overlooked, but it is not okay for people like him. Test says that he has been overlooked for the ECW Title. He says that he should be wrestling Bobby Lashley for the title. He reminds us that he has beaten Rob Van Dam. He says that he is better than Van Dam and Lashley. There will be no match tonight and he will not be going out there because he has nothing left to prove. We go to commercial.
We are back and Elijah Burke is in the ring on the mic. He says that since this time is open for entertainment, who is better than the Elijah Experience. He says that it is simple. Last week, he prophesized victory. He says that he foretold the future when he won a match by tap out thanks to the Man Bear Sylvester Terkay. Burke says that he requested that the Man Bear stay in the locker room because he is so confident that will knock someone out.
Sandman’s music plays and he comes to the ring.
Sandman and Burke stand face-to-face. Burke tries to punch Sandman, but Sandman blocks it with his cane. He is unable to block the next punch from Burke. Sandman ducks another punch and then he hits Burke with the cane and Burke leaves the ring. Burke refuses to enter the ring until Sandman gets rid of his cane. Burke goes to the back.
Styles, Tazz, and Armstrong talk about the Dreamer/Khali match and then we see the Great Khali video package that aired on Raw. We go to commercial.
Match Number Two: Great Khali (with Khosrow Daivari) versus Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules Match
Dreamer comes to the ring with a street sign, but Khali steps on it when Dreamer gets into the ring. Khali with a forearm to Dreamer’s back. Dreamer tries to punch back, but they have no effect. Khali with a head butt and short arm clothesline. Khali chokes Dreamer in the corner followed by a punch to the head. Khali with an Irish whip and then he chokes Dreamer with his boot. Khali puts Dreamer on the top turnbuckle, but Dreamer with a rake of the eyes and then he hits Khali in the arm twice with the street sign. Daivari comes in and he gets hit in the head with the street sign. Dreamer tries to hit Khali one more time, but Khali punches the sign and hits Dreamer. Khali gets Dreamer up for a vertical choke and then he drops Dreamer to the mat for the three count.
Winner: Great Khali
Rebecca DiPietro is in the interview area with Rob Van Dam. She asks Rob for his thoughts on his rematch against Bobby Lashley. Rob says that people often look his way and say that he is too laid back and too cool for himself and does not care about anything. Rob says that he cares about ECW and the ECW World Title. He says that being the ECW Champion was the highlight of his career. It capped a ten year journey that started the first time he stepped foot in an ECW ring. On July Fourth, when he had the title taken from him, he cared about that. Van Dam says that he hasn’t cared about anything since except regaining the title. He says that he has respect for Bobby Lashley and he showed it last week. This week, the ECW World Title goes home to Rob Van Dam. We go to commercial.
We are back with a Wrestlemania Recall of Lawrence Taylor defeating Bam Bam Bigelow at Wrestlemania 11.
We see a look back at what happened to Tommy Dreamer when he faced the Great Khali. During the commercial, Dreamer got to his feet before leaving the ring.
Match Number Three: Kevin Thorn (with Ariel) versus Shannon Moore
Moore goes after Thorn when the bell rings with kicks, but Thorn with a short arm clothesline and kicks to Moore. Thorn with forearms across Moore’s chest and then he slams Moore’s head into the turnbuckle. Thorn punches Moore, but Moore with an elbow. Moore goes to the turnbuckles, but Thorn stops him with forearms to the back and then he tosses Moore to the mat with Moore landing face first on the mat. Thorn puts Moore on the turnbuckles and then he hits the Dark Kiss for the three count.
Winner: Kevin Thorn
We see Bobby Lashley getting ready for his match in the back as we go to commercial.
We are back and we find out that Kelly will be back next week.
We see highlights from last week’s title match as Van Dam comes to the ring and awaits Lashley.
Match Number Four: Rob Van Dam versus Bobby Lashley for the ECW Title
Van Dam with a side head lock but Lashley with a shoulder tackle. Van Dam with a drop toe hold into a side head lock but Lashley with another shoulder tackle. Lashley with a running forearm, but he misses an elbow drop. Van Dam tries for a somersault leg drop, but Lashley moves out of the way. Van Dam misses a spin kick and Lashley misses a clothesline. Both men stand off as we go to commercial.
We are back and Lashley with a spinebuster for a two count. Lashley with a Northern Lights Suplex for a two count. Lashley sends Van Dam into the turnbuckles and then he hits a shoulder tackle followed by a biel. Lashley tries for the spear, but Van Dam with a drop toe hold that sends Lashley into the turnbuckles. Van Dam with a baseball slide drop kick to Lashley followed by a slingshot leg drop from the ring to the apron. Van Dam returns to the ring and he gets a two count. Van Dam slams Lashley’s head into the turnbuckles followed by a kick. Van Dam with a standing power slam and a split legged moonsault for a two count. Van Dam with shoulders in the corner followed by a running spin kick. Van Dam goes up top for a side kick to Lashley for a two count. Van Dam with a head scissors to Lashley but Lashley escapes the hold and he punches Van Dam. Van Dam with a super kick for a two count. Lashley with an Irish whip, but he charges into a boot from Van Dam. Lashley with a running clothesline into the corner and then he gets Van Dam up for a Torture Rack. Van Dam with the step over heel kick and then Van Dam hits Rolling Thunder for a two count. Lashley and Van Dam exchange punches until Lashley hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Lashley tries for a spear, but Van Dam moves out of the way and Lashley goes to the floor. Van Dam puts Lashley on the announce table and he tries for the corkscrew leg drop, but Lashley moves out of the way and Van Dam’s leg hits the announce table hard. The action returns to the ring and Lashley with a running shoulder tackle and clothesline. Lashley tosses Van Dam over his head and then he hits an elbow drop for a two count. Lashley with an Irish whip and a running clothesline into the corner. Lashley with a spear into the corner followed by a suplex and then he floats over for a delayed vertical suplex. Lashley sets for the spear and he hits it. From out of nowhere, Test comes into the ring and he hits Lashley with the steel chair. The ref calls for the bell.
Winner: No Contest
After the match, Test tosses the chair and hits Van Dam in the head, knocking Rob out of the ring. Test leaves the ring after surveying the damage. We go to credits.
