This is the first time in my almost 7 years of predicting WWE pay per views that I’m embarrassed to even try. I’ve been slumping for months, but I made things worse when last month I only got two matches right. Just like Shawn Michaels once said, “I lost my smile.” Well really I lost my mind. Now I’m not feeling very confident with tonight’s New Years Revolution. Honestly I am not comfortable with any of my picks. Not one. But hell I have to just remember this is for fun and hopefully you all will continue to put up with me no matter how crappy I do. So enough with the stalling here I go.
Cryme Tyme vs. World Greatest Tag Team
Now this isn’t on the card, but I have read that there is a good chance that this match might be added into the show. If this takes place I know I will be very to see more of Cryme Tyme in the ring and one of my favorite tag teams, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas do what they do best, WRESTLE. I would expect a Cryme Tyme win which would help get this feud going even more than it has. I am anxious to see how JTG and Shad perform against such a strong tag team.
Winners: Cryme Tyme
Carlito vs. Chris Masters
I wish I could say I’m looking forward to this match, but I’m not. I feel that Carlito will do what he did almost a year ago, CARRY Chris Masters. My expectations are not high so anything half way decent will please me. I am not only hoping for a Carlito win, but I would love to see Carlito finally break that Master-Lock, but I’m not holding my breath about the lock being broken.
Winner: Carlito
Ric Flair vs. Kenny Dykstra
I have to go with Kenny over Flair. Kenny I believe he is in for a major push, in fact that push has already started. With Flair taking another major “beating” this past Monday from Rated RKO, I would imagine that he’ll be selling his injuries which in turn will affect how he wrestles. I have no idea how the match will come off but if it’s similar to Monday’s then that’s good enough for me.
Winner: Kenny
Women’s Champion Mickie James vs. Victoria
Victoria has been THE top women for the last few weeks; no one has been able to really take her out. Mickie has tried but as they say so many times in the WWE, Victoria has been THE most dominant female on Monday Night Raw. And because of that, I’m going with Mickie. Mickie lost to Victoria in a non title match about three weeks ago and I’m hoping because of that loss she comes back to not only win but to piss off Victoria so much that their feud continues.
Winner: Mickie James
Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro (Steel Cage Match)
This should be THE MATCH OF THE NIGHT. We know the great job that Hardy and Nitro did a few months ago in their ladder match. That was one of the best matches that WWE gave us on free TV, and I have a feeling that this cage match will be brutal, bloody and just off the charts. I’m going with Johnny Nitro for the win. I feel that these two have met for the IC title so many times that it’s time for Jeff Hardy to lose it. Let me say whether it’s a Nitro win or a Hardy win it won’t matter to me because I am so thrilled by the way both of these men have performed week after week.
Winner: Johnny Nitro
DX vs. World Tag Team Champions Rated-RKO
Talk about a really touch match to pick. First, I didn’t see DX winning the belts. I guess my thoughts were they don’t need it and Edge and Randy will eventually lose it to Cryme Tyme. So I was going with Rated RKO, but then I thought no, DX will win on a DQ, with Edge and Orton hanging on to the titles. But after long deliberations (I told you I take this way too seriously) not only am I picking DX for the win, but the win will include the titles it won’t be on a DQ. Edge and Orton have really ruled DX since the beginning of December. I would think that tonight DX will make a strong comeback and defeat Edge and Orton. I loved the intense Triple H and Shawn this past Monday night and I think we will see a hard fought match by all four of these guys.
Winners: DX
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Umaga
Just like DX I was going with one outcome, an Umaga win. And at the Royal Rumble Cena would win it back, but after thinking about it, I’m going to say that John Cena will win, and it will be because of some type of DQ. Remember Armando Alejandro Estrada will be out there and I’m sure we can expect some type of interference from him. I’m going with the DQ victory because this way Umaga still keeps his winning streak and Cena remains WWE champion. I think if they keep this match short it will not only keep the fans interested but it will also come off much better than a match that lasts around 20 minutes or longer.
Winner: John Cena
I have to say I’m excited about the show tonight. The two matches I’m really looking forward to are the Rated RKO/DX match and the Cage match. But with the exception of Carlito vs. Masters I’m really cool about the card. I want to thank so many of you for emailing me your predictions, and it’s still early so keep them coming. I will leave you with two requests.
One of my readers would like to know where he can get Michelle McCool’s theme song. You can email him at, john-chidiac@hotmail.com. The second request is from a reader that would like to know the following. During Backlash 2002 (the DVD), the match between Scott Hall and Bradshaw, Hall came out to different theme music than the original NWO music. He would like to know why they used a different song, and does anyone have any idea where he can find that theme song. You can email him at slkbenz84@yahoo.com.
