T’was the night before Christmas
And they’re off again.
Those wrestling superstars,
Both women and men.
A tradition’s been started,
It’s back to Iraq.
Other athletes don’t do this,
Not Iverson or Shaq.
World Wrestling Entertainment
Sends them overseas,
To bring some relief
And some much needed ease
To the troops that fight for us
Day in and day out,
Without asking a question,
And without any doubt.
They need time to relax,
Of that I am sure.
To let off some steam
For all they endure.
JBL, Undertaker, John Cena, Jeff Hardy,
From Carlito to Masters to Punk, what a party!
And let’s not forget that some women went too,
Maria, Melina, Torrie, to name but a few.
Ah, this was a great time,
The troops, they did cheer.
And all of the athletes,
They held this time dear.
Well, maybe not quite all.
See, Vince, he’s irate.
RVD was a no-show
For the second year straight.
Van Dam didn’t want to.
The reason – don’t know.
But he put his foot down
And said, “I won’t go!”
But this thing that Vince does,
And has for four years
Is a wonderful thing
That moves some to tears.
These soldiers are warriors
We cannot deny.
For us they are willing
To possibly die.
And when athletes touch down
On American soil,
The men and the women
Have reason to toil.
Another enemy is waiting,
One they know too well.
TNA’s in the shadows
Should they even dwell.
But for the present,
The time is just right.
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYBODY!
Be safe and God Bless,
Viva La Raza,
Barb.
