While I would LOVE to use the time to talk about Smackdown, I can’t because it’s time for my Armageddon predictions. I won’t be ordering the show not because I feel it’s going to stink, but because I’ll be ordering New Years Revolution and The Royal Rumble in January. My point? It’s just too expensive to order every WWE pay per view out there. Too bad Vince McMahon doesn’t see things my way and lower pay per view prices. But anyway I want to share my picks with you. I see I’m starting to get many of your predictions in. I haven’t had a chance to look at all of them yet, but I will so please keep them coming.
As I said I loved Smackdown with the exception of the Miz/Boogeyman segment. I think that thing bombed from beginning to end. Other than that it was a very solid Smackdown. And because of the show and the build up for Armageddon I truly believe the show is going to come off very well tonight. Let me get right to my predictions. I would love to say I’m cool with all of them but there are a few I’m really not certain about.
Boogeyman vs. Miz
I don’t know if this is going to happen, but if it does I’ll keep it short. Even with Boogeyman and the worms I’m glad I won’t be watching this one. I have no idea who will walk out the winner. I would like to see Miz lose, but I have a feeling he’ll beat the Boogeyman.
Winner: The Miz
Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms vs. Jimmy Wang Yang
I might not have been a fan of the redneck character for Jimmy Wang Yang, but I have always been a fan of his wrestling. And as far as I’m concerned the gimmick and Yang’s wrestling have come together very well. Along with another excellent high flyer in Gregory Helms, I have a feeling that the fans are going to be treated to a very good match. I’m going to go with Yang, only because Helms has held onto that title for almost a year. If this match isn’t rushed look for it to be one of the top matches of the night.
Winner: Jimmy Wang Yang
WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick vs. William Regal and Dave Taylor
I definitely see a title change here. I have to be honest with you. While Regal and Taylor are good wrestlers, I hate to see them get the belt. Maybe if London and Kendrick didn’t do all those great high flying moves that they do I would be more into the old school wrestling of Regal and Taylor. I think it’s the high flyers that the majority of the fans are into and they are the ones that put so much life into this division. I have a feeling that Ashley somehow is going to be the reason for the London/Kendrick loss.
Winners: William Regal and David Taylor
United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero
I have to go with Chavo as the winner. I was very happy with Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero at the Survivor Series. My only complaint was that the match was too short. I would love this match to be given enough time to let these two outstanding wrestlers show the fans just how good they are in the ring. I can’t see another Benoit win over Chavo, this time with the help of Vickie Chavo will leave as the U.S. champion
Winner: Chavo Guerrero
Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy (Last Ride Match)
I’m not exactly a big fan of the Last Ride Match. But then again I haven’t seen many of these matches. But what I am a big fan of his brutality, and I mean that in the ring. I have a feeling this is going to be bloody and very physical. I have to hand it to Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy he has proven to be a worthy opponent for Undertaker. And its been nice to see Taker on Smackdown on a regular basis. These two guys have worked well together and I believe tonight will be their final match, and maybe the most brutal of all the matches. I have to go with Taker only because he has yet to beat Kennedy on a pay per view. But should Mr. Kennedy win I will not be surprised at all.
Winner: Undertaker
Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) vs. Kane (Inferno Match)
Both of these men have come through very well in gimmick matches. I think inferno matches are HOT. Okay seriously I do like them and like the Last Ride Match I think this one will be quite entertaining. I really have no idea who will win. I’m thinking Kane, but I will go with MVP. Why? I really don’t know but that’s what’s hitting me as of now.
Winner: MVP
World Heavyweight Champion Batista & WWE Champion John Cena vs. King Booker & Finlay
John Cena’s Smackdown promo about teaming up with Batista was done very well. I could feel his passion when he spoke. I like the idea of teaming up both champions very much. And with Booker T and Finlay in this one it should be a very good match. With Batista and Cena so over, I expect the crowd to be into this match from start to finish. I’m going with Cena and Batista for win. I think this match will not only be very good but this will be a great way to end the show.
Winners: Batista and Cena
After a dismal ECW December to Dismember pay per view, I really hope that Armageddon comes off strong and entertaining. I would love to read positive feedback on the show. I always like to say if anyone is going tonight have a great time and for those of you who are planning to order it I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you will email me with your thoughts on the show. I will be back on Tuesday with my thoughts on Monday’s three hour Raw. I’m hoping the Battle Royale comes through and doesn’t turn into a dud. I have a feeling Monday night they will start building up NYR which will be on January 7th. And I just read on WWE.com that Sylvester Stallone will be interviewed on Raw. Well okay, there’s still like 2:45 minutes left to entertain me.
