Thanks for all the great feedback. I will answer as many emails as possible this week and will have another group answered this week prior to leaving for Kansas City for the Oklahoma-Nebraska Big 12 Title game which is this Saturday night on ABC-TV.
Jessica- Getting items signed by WWE superstars isn’t impossible but it is challenging. The last thing you want to do is send the item to be signed to a generic address in hopes that a wrestler will receive it and sign your item. Obviously, the best way to get something signed is to do it in person which I realize isn’t always possible or feasible. We are working on a method to have items mailed to us that I can sign but we won’t have that ready until early 2007.
Jeffery- I agree that the WWE, which is still doing major league business, could be considered to be in a “transition” period as it relates to newer and younger talents getting established. The WWE has some wonderful veterans but the future of any company is built around youth and it is up to the process and the individuals themselves to make that happen. Some talents have “it” and some never will obtain “it”. Plus, “it” could be perceived as subjective as well.
Sergio- The WWE’s International growth is amazing and I could easily see in the future the WWE doing a TV shoot or perhaps even a pay per view in Mexico in the future. The fans there are historically outstanding.
T. Adams- Interesting Wrestlemania 23 card you proposed. I would love to know the card myself and I am sure it will be as special as it possibly can. Interestingly enough over $4M dollars worth of tickets have been sold w/o a card! If OU can earn a win in K.C. this Saturday night it looks like the Sooners could meet Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. If so, take it easy on us. But first we have to beat a talented Cornhusker squad.
Weber- Thanks for the really kind words. I love working for the WWE and broadcasting RAWs and PPV’s and hope to continue to do so for as long as the company will have me around and as long as I can carry my fair share of the water.
P. Restivo- How could I as a man kiss Mr. McMahon’s backside? Sounds as if you are challenging my manhood which doesn’t feel too good. Bottom line, I am a team player and do what is called upon to enhance the product as instructed. It’s called having a job and doing as one is instructed to do. Obviously, it isn’t for everyone but I try and handle it as best as possible and it hasn’t killed me yet.
Jon- I don’t see JBL ever moving to RAW to work with yours truly as we would be REALLY southern sounding which most TV execs don’t covet. Yes, I understand King is southern as well being from Memphis but J.R. and JBL might be too much but it would never be boring. I like JBL and Michael Cole on Smackdown.
John- Chris Jericho is involved in a variety of projects including spending time with his lovely wife and 3 beautiful young children. I just wrote the foreword for Chris’s upcoming book that covers his career from 1990 until he came to the WWE. Chris is ultra talented and will most likely have a match or two in the future but when and where will be up to Chris. I am not sure when the WWE is returning to Winnipeg but you can bet the WWE will return with the help of local promoter Bob Holliday.
Carl- I get asked questions all the time about when the WWE will have a pay per view in the UK. I still don’t have the answer but I would bet a bottle of BBQ Sauce it will definitely happen. The UK is a vital marketplace for the WWE and one of our favorite places to travel.
Dan- The TNA “War on VKM” doesn’t jump off the page at me but that’s only my opinion. I don’t know what is really achieved at the end of the day. I cannot speak for Mr. McMahon but I would assume he could care less about what “war” may or may not be declared on him.
Billy- Who replaces J.R. when the time comes? Beats me. I have no clue but several have tried to no avail thus far. I would like to think I have several years left to contribute to the business so I really haven’t thought about who will be the next “voice of RAW” but my sense of it is that it could be someone totally new, young, and with no Oklahoma drawl.
Daniel- Sorry about the Notre Dame lose to Southern Cal but the Trojans are seemingly headed to the January 8 National Title Game with Ohio State in Glendale, Arizona. Coach Weiss has done an amazing job with the Irish and another top recruiting class or two will have the Irish right back in the National Title mix.
Kenny- I am happy, really happy, you think our sauces are “awesome”. That, my friend, is awesome to me!
James- My relationship with Ed Ferrara is good. There are no issues or latent animosity on either side. Ed is a very intelligent man who was simply doing his job when he impersonated me as “Oklahoma” back in WCW. I did not like it at the time but that is history as far as I am concerned. I have had a couple of conversations with Ed and all is well. I refuse to live my life bringing negative issues forward with me as this stage of my life. I wish I had adopted that philosophy when I was younger.
Leo- God Bless you Leo and best of luck recovering from your brain tumor. I will keep you in my prayers. Your dedication to continue to watch RAW while ill is motivational and inspirational to me personally. I hope to see you in Big D in January.
Andy…and others- The Rock is knee deep in his movie career and whether Rock ever makes an appearance on WWE TV again is up to The Rock and WWE management. I see it more as a timing issue than anything else. I know for a fact Rock still watches the programming and misses his fans. I would love to see Rock back anytime…anywhere but I am not holding my breath.
Darren- Without fail Stone Cold Steve Austin will have a role on WWE programming (hopefully RAW) prior to Wrestlemania and “The Condemned” being released in April of 2007. What that role will be is anyone’s guess but I don’t see it being a wrestler. I could be wrong and I have been many times before.
Adam- I think HBK is an amazing man and Hall of Fame level wrestler and it would not surprise me whatsoever to see Shawn Michaels as the WWE Champion prior to HBK hanging up his tights which I hope will not be any time soon.
Vince- I broadcast in WCW with Jesse Ventura back in the early 90s. Jesse was/is a brilliant guy who had natural timing and was a classic villain. We did not have the time nor the motivation to develop any significant chemistry but I did enjoy working with “The Body”. If we had been together longer in a more sane environment than WCW I know we could have really clicked.
