ANNOUNCING THE TWO SHEDS REVIEW AWARDS 2006

Yep, it’s the time of the year where you, the readers of The Two Sheds Review, can pay tribute to your favourite wrestlers and promotions.
From December 1st, I will be accepting nominations for The Two Sheds Review 2006 Awards. Nominations for the various categories can be submitted for the entire month of December. Then, in early January, after I recover from my New Year’s hangover, you’ll be able to vote for the final five in each category.
The categories are as follows;
WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
So who would you vote for this year? Triple H? Shawn Michaels? John Cena? A.J. Styles, or perhaps someone from the independant scene. The only criteria for this award is that the wrestler must have competed for a North American-based promotion in 2006.
TAG-TEAM OF THE YEAR
Although the WWE doesn’t put much faith in the tag division at the moment, there’s still some fine combos out there. Who do you think should get the nod this year?
DIVA OF THE YEAR
So which Diva floats your boat? Will you pay tribute to the now retired Trish Stratus or Lita? Or perhaps you’ll give TNA’s Gail Kim a wink!
INTERNATIONAL WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
A new category of sorts. Perhaps you’ve enjoyed the work of a wrestler from Japan, Mexico, or Britain. If so, nominate them in this category!
NON-WRESTLING PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
It’s not all about the grapplers you know! Guys like Jim Ross, Joey Styles, Paul Heyman, Jim Mitchell and Jim Cornette also have an important role to play in the wrestling world!
MMA FIGHTER OF THE YEAR
A new category, designed to recognise the growing popularity of mixed martial arts around the world. The likes of Matt Hughes, Tito Ortiz, Mirko Cro Cop and Chuck Lidell are bound to figure strongly in this one!
WRESTLING PROMOTION OF THE YEAR
WWE continues to be the biggest promotion in the world, with TNA snapping at their heels. Will these two get your vote? Or perhaps you prefer Ring of Honor, or one of the lesser known companies.
MMA PROMOTION OF THE YEAR
Another new category. Both Pride and UFC have put on strong shows this year, but British promotions such as Cage Rage and Cage Warriors may also get your vote.
WRESTLING SHOW OF THE YEAR
WWE shows have dominated this award over the past couple of years. But what of TNA, or your favourite indy promotions?
MMA SHOW OF THE YEAR
UFC continue to draw strong numbers with their PPVs and their Ultimate Fighter series. But perhaps you preferred Pride or Cage Rage?
WRESTLING WEBSITE OF THE YEAR
So where do you go to get your fix of wrestling news? Countless wrestling websites launch every week. The only criteria here is that the site you nominate must cover more than one promotion.
WRESTLING WRITER OF THE YEAR
So who do you like to read? From magazine writers to internet columnists to book authors, there’s countless people you could nominate.
HOW TO NOMINATE
This is easy. Just send an e-mail to me at twosheds316@aol.com with THE TWO SHEDS REVIEW AWARDS NOMINATIONS in the subject box. You don’t have to nominate in every category, but please try to nominate in more than one! All nominations must be in by midnight, December 31st, 2006. Any nominations recieved after then will not be counted. Final voting will then begin a few days afterwards.
