I can tell many of you are all set for tonight’s No Mercy. I have received quite a bit of emails with predictions for tonight’s matches. I received so many earlier in the week which really impressed me because I had to watch last night’s Smackdown to get some idea just whom I would be picking. I will say that Smackdown did help me and I feel somewhat comfortable with my predictions. Listen I am in such a bad slump that a nice showing would certainly perk me up. So let me get right to my winners of tonight’s show.
Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms vs. Matt Hardy
Now I had no idea that this was a non title match so that tells me right off that Matt Hardy will beat Gregory Helms. I say this so often but, I hope this match isn’t rushed and Helms and Hardy get enough time to wow the fans. I think this is going to be a very good match and with a Hardy win, Helms will continue to remain the longest reigning WWE champion.
Winner: Matt Hardy
MVP vs.?
Let’s face it; no matter who he faces he’s not going to lose, not for his debut match
Winner: MVP
London/Kendrick with Ashley vs. Idol Stevens and K.C. James with Michelle McCool for the Tag Team Championship Titles
I will be shocked very shocked if Stevens and James don’t leave with the titles. We all know that up until Kid Kash was canned by WWE that the tag team division was alive and well on Smackdown. Well it’s in a lot better shape than Raw’s tag team division and because of that you are going to see quite a match. I’m sure Michelle and Ashley will play a part in this one but it’s going to be the guys with their high flying moves that will make this a good match.
Winners: Stevens and James
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero (Falls Count Anywhere Match)
Okay every month I say the very same thing; Chavo will win and injure Rey so badly that Rey will take time off to get the knee surgery that he has been putting off. Well I’m going with that very same theory again. I really do see a Chavo win and I “think” this will be it for Rey Mysterio for a while. Now we all know what these two guys can do in the ring and I have no doubt how good this match will be. I’ll guarantee you that this will be one of the top matches of the night.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero
United States Champion Mr. Kennedy vs. Undertaker
This is a tough one. While I feel Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy needs this win if they are going to give him a big push, but I wonder if Taker will job to him. You know what? I have no idea at all what is going to happen here. My first thought is to go with Kennedy and I know that I should always go with my first pick but I just don’t see Taker losing this one. I could see that happening at the Survivor Series but not at No Mercy. This should turn out to be a good match and after Sunday Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy won’t be able to say he’s beaten the entire Smackdown roster; he will still have Taker to contend with.
Winner: Undertaker
Fit Finlay vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Batista vs. King Booker In A Fatal Fourway match for the World Title
Notice how this one changed mid week? I read a rumor dealing with the change. There were two reasons for adding Finlay and Batista to this match. The first was that Lashley being a new participant in a main event pay per view match might not bring in big buy rates, and the second reason was that Batista is so over with the fans that adding him to this match would bring in fans that might not have planned on ordering the show. So whether this is a rumor or its factual I think this is a smart move. You have two seasoned vets in there with Finlay and Booker. And then you have Batista who is so over with the fans, and finally there’s Lashley who has been coming along very well and instead of looking a little out of place in a one on one match I think he’ll look like he fits right in. This should be a good hard-worked match and you can bet the Little Bastard, Regal and Queen Sharmell will all interfere in Booker’s behalf, now will that help him or hurt him? Well I am going with King Booker to remain the champion for a little longer.
Winner: King Booker
I will not be ordering the show but you can bet I’ll be checking the results throughout the night. The card looks strong and I think No Mercy will definitely deliver. Keep your predictions coming and I will be back on Tuesday to talk about the big Raw Family Reunion show. Don’t forget we are getting a three hour show with ECW, Smackdown and Raw talent so hopefully Raw will be an exceptionally good show.
