“Aches & Painsâ€
Being the aging athlete, I have noticed over my career… changes. For example, I cannot eat the same way I once did otherwise I would weigh about a ton!! Since I plan on being on this planet for 125 years and want quality of life, I have had to change some eating habits. Even the way I exercise has changed over time. I cannot go at it with the same intensity without me paying the price. That price is usually the next morning when I am trying to get out of bed and things hurt all over. There have been times when things hurt so bad in the lower back region that I decided to wear flip flops instead of bending over to put on shoes. No one will notice that during the warmer months of the year, but I have had a few individuals look at me strangely when I do this in the middle of winter.
Being involved in professional wrestling is especially hard on the body. All the times being picked up, body slammed, back suplexes, hip tosses, taking a turnbuckle and being thrown over the top rope will take their toll. It is important to warm-up properly before practice and do some type of cool down stretch afterwards, but this is often overlooked. When wrestling on the independent scene, I somewhat expected it, but I was surprised when I worked for the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) that I would still be about the only guy doing a warm-up and stretching routine.
This routine is available at www.dansevern.com and it is a part of my “Pro Wrestling Training†series 3pk. This VHS 3pk is being blown out the door at a clearance price of $45.99 (regular price $99.99) because we are converting all of our Video’s to DVD. You can also get then separate at $19.99 each. If MMA is more of your game, check out my new DVD entitled “MMA Seminar†which was just released a couple of weeks ago for $29.95 (free shipping.) It goes over the pummeling routine as another fantastic way of warming the body up and getting the blood circulating.
As for me, I am getting ready to head out doors to “Rog.†This simply stands for half running and half jogging!
All the best, from the beast…
Dan Severn
