Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling presents its next major live event this Sunday afternoon, August 6th, it’s “August Onslaught†emanating from the home of CAPW: Turner’s Hall on Guthrie Ave. in Cleveland, with a 4 pm bell time. Tickets are just $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. This will be a television taping for Sports Time Ohio, available in nearly 3 million homes across the state, so don’t miss your opportunity to have your signs, banners, and faces showcased on television along with the great action of CAPW. Several blockbuster matches are signed and set for the event, with the absolute best in regional and national superstars slated to appear, let’s run down the complete card as it stands today.
AUGUST ONSLAUGHT
Turners Hall 7325 Guthrie, Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio
Doors open at 3:00 with a 4:00 Bell time
**CAPW Heavyweight Championship**
Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Chris Hamrick
Long-standing CAPW Heavyweight Champion Chris Hamrick was shockingly defeated in a Triple Threat Match this past February involving Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Cage. A frustrated Hamrick went into an extended hiatus, and had not been heard from since…until now. Hamrick has petitioned CAPW management to grant him his return bout against the current champion, “Double C†Claudio Castagnoli, who has been on an absolute roll. Not only did Claudio defeat 2-time former and longest reigning champion Adam Cage to capture the title, he successfully defended it just one month ago, against both “American Dragon†Bryan Danielson and “Fallen Angel†Christopher Daniels in a Triple Threat Match. It will be arguably the two best win-loss records in CAPW history colliding with Cleveland’s top prize at stake.
**CAPW Television Championship**
Bane (c) vs. Rhino
When “The War Machine†Rhino made his CAPW return last April, cleanly defeating the near-unstoppable Samoa Joe, wrestling analysts and a record-setting crowd at Turner’s Hall were impressed and in awe of the former ECW World Champion. Jason Bane, however, was not. Bane considers himself the only true bad-ass on the CAPW roster, and if Rhino wants to make a name for himself in Cleveland, he’ll have to go through him. Bane strengthened his claims when he outlasted over thirty great athletes to re-capture the newly re-instated CAPW Television Championship. Bane offered to put his championship on the line against “The Man Beast†and that offer was just too good for Rhino to pass up. It’s a battle of the bulls this Sunday.
**CAPW Jr. Heavyweight Championship**
Matt Stryker (c) Phil Atlas
Matt Stryker has been unbeatable since capturing the Jr. Title, outwrestling and outsmarting everyone in his path. Now he steps into the ring with the high-flying 21-year-old standout from Canada, Phil Atlas. Will Stryker’s reign of dominance continue?
**CAPW Tag Team Championship**
JT Lightning, Chris Cronus, with Krystal Frost (c) vs. Canadian Bad Boy & The Bouncer
Lightning & Cronus captured the vacant tag titles one month ago, thanks to blatant illegal assistance from Krystal Frost. Now the champions enter their first defense, taking on two of the biggest men on the roster: The Bouncer & The Canadian Bad Boy, each hovering around the 300 lb. mark. Can Bouncer & Bad Boy end Lightning & Cronus’ reign, and will Krystal Frost interject herself once again?
Alex Shelley vs. Johnny Gargano
Johnny Gargano is a brash, cocky, overbearing individual, who despite being one of the youngest members of the roster, has all the tools to back it up. Gargano has made it clear he’s looking out for himself and no one else, and that attitude has been of great benefit to him. However, is he prepared to go toe-to-toe with a man who’s been all over the world, not to mention on Spike TV every single week? TNA star and one of the best mat wrestlers around today, Alex Shelley will oppose Gargano in what is sure to be one of the most intriguing bouts of the evening. Whether it’s competing in the X-Division, teaming with Kevin Nash, or appearing in CAPW, Alex Shelley is always at the top of his game.
Super Oprah & Carlton Kaz vs. Zak Vincent & Chris Kahn
One of the most memorable moments in last month’s CAPW TV Title Russian Roulette Rumble was the emergence of the individual known only as “Super Oprahâ€, who certainly bore a striking resemblance to the famous television personality of the same name. Here, Super Oprah teams with “Simply the Best†Carlton Kaz to form one of the oddest tag teams in recent memory. Will impressive upstarts Zak Vincent & Chris Kahn capitalize on such a mismatch to score a big win, or will Super Oprah be successful in empowering the female race, and scoring the victory with Kaz?
Da Munchies vs. Luis Diamante & Billy Taylor
Too Cool Abdul & Dick Trimmins have been more ruthless than ever since turning their backs on their fans in very disrespectful fashion. The new-attitude of Da Munchies continues this Sunday in action against upstarts Diamante & Taylor.
Kenny Hendrix vs. The Aftermath
Hendrix and The Aftermath have targeted one another in matches and sneak-attacks over the months, and this Sunday it comes to a head. Will The Aftermath score the upset over the much larger Hendrix?
Plus, two special bonus attractions to take place prior to bell time…
Barry Saggitarious vs. Tiger Young
Action Dan Spade vs. Michael Hellborn
