Jimmy Jacobs
– The interview opens with discussion about Jimmy’s newest show in Iowa. He says the partying there will be fun, and there is a lot to do there. The show is for Scott County Wrestling, and it will be his first show there. He also says that being from ROH has given him a good reputation on the Indy scene.
– Even though he hasn’t played a huge role in it, he has enjoyed the CZW/ROH feud that has been brewing between the two promotions and he feels that it is a fresh angle.
– When asked about The Contra Code, he says he got the name from a video game which leads into a quick discussion about old video games. Jimmy expresses his love for older video games like the ones on NES and SNES.
– He is then asked about his ladder match with Delirious and says that Delirious is probably his favorite wrestler today and really enjoyed the match.
– He also really enjoyed his feud with Alex Shelley and he would like to see both feuds end up in TNA.
– When asked about the internet fans and their love for ROH, he says that he appreciates the love and compliments towards his work, but he doesn’t put too much work into what they say.
– Jimmy says that he really enjoyed having Lacey as his manager and the “Ballad of Lacey†videos were his idea.
– When talking about some of his older gimmicks, he says he is not sure where Goof City USA and his catchphrase from a few years ago was an idea of Bruiser Brody.
– He enjoys working with big stars like Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels and says working with them makes him want to step up his game. He says that Joe is great and has a great mind for the business and he is not at all surprised that he’s become a huge star in TNA.
– He then talks about his upcoming match with BJ Whitmore in ROH in which the winner will get a title shot. He says that he just recently watched their first match and talks about a major injury he suffered after a Powerbomb spot. He says that he is thankful he was about to walk out. He doesn’t remember the match at all, but is excited about the rematch.
– Jimmy feels that his small size hinders him, but to him it only means that he has to work harder to stand out. He says that guys of his size winning world titles is very unlikely, and even guys like Rey Mysterio winning the belt is only a rarity.
– He then talks about throwing the IWA Title in the trash. He says that it was a shoot and he did it because he was not getting paid and the shows he was working were getting canceled.
– A discussion about the championship belts take place, and Jimmy says that they are pretty heavy and people have been seriously hurt getting hit with them during matches.
– He says he will not be a part of the ROH:UK shows in August.
– He talks about his 65 minute 10 man elimination match for IWA. He says the crowd was not very big and the match was impromptu. The match came down to him and Jamie Noble and he puts him over as a great wrestler. He greatly enjoyed the few times they wrestled each other. Jimmy says that they clicked really well in the last match they had together.
– When talking about his many tag team partners, Jimmy says he really enjoyed working with BJ. He enjoyed the dynamic of a big/little man team, but felt that they dropped the titles just as they were coming into their own.
– When talking about IWA again, he says that it was time for him to leave there, and as of right now there are no plans to go back.
– The interview closes with a plug for his website, his myspace, and his merchandise. He also plugs for Zach Gowan’s myspace which leads into a quick discussion about him. Jimmy says one of his best matches with Zach, and feels that he is bringing his A Game.
