The first of soon-to-be many WrestleMania 23 poster advertisements has been released. It features information on the travel package for WrestleMania 23, a shot of the Detroit city, and the tagline, “20 Years Later…We’re Back In The Motor City,” which will be the official theme of the event as it is the 20th anniversary of the epic Andre The Giant-Hulk Hogan match that drew 93,173 wrestling fans (disputed to actually be around 78,000) in the Pontiac Silverdome. WrestleMania will take place in the Ford Field of Detroit, MI, which replaced the Pontiac Silverdome in 2002. No plans for WrestleMania are known right now except that Hulk Hogan is pushing hard for a match with Steve Austin and Austin is very unwilling to do a match with him. It was earlier reported that the Spirit Squad will be broken up soon. While it’s completely up in the air for most of the members, the future of Ken Doane looks very bright as management has high hopes for the twenty year old who they hope to mold into the next big superstar given his in-ring skill, look, and young age, mostly the latter two.
While Miz would appear to be completely messing up his time in the spotlight right now, WWE remains high on him due to his charisma and his connection with the women demographic and after the Diva Search is over, there is a big push in store for The Miz. While he is not currently wrestling nor has he on WWE TV yet, he is still actively wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling where he is in a program with CM Punk.
Credit to Bryce Yang: Bill Goldberg was on KROQ in Los Angeles to promote the MMA PPV this Saturday from the WFA organization. On wrestling, he said he didn’t appreciate it before he got into it and he was one of those athletes who looked down upon it. However, he said he owes everything to people in WCW who made him, especially all the people who made him a star and put him over. He then said he owes everyone in the business for his success except for Vince McMahon whom he called “a piece of crap” and “a prick.”
