There’s been a whole lot of news stories going around this past week… Some true, some not true. But we at the Weekend Warriors of Wrestling aren’t the type to tap dance around. Instead, we go to the source and find out the real story!
We were lucky enough to sit down and chat with former Survivor and TNA star Johnny Fairplay and find out exactly what the deal is with the rumors of him signing with the WWE and being part of the new ECW. And, you can hear his response to that question as well as his thoughts on his stay in TNA in this exclusive interview.

Fariplay hopes that rumors of ECW wanting to sign him are indeed true meeting went well with ECW
“It was a dream come true” Fairplay said when he signed with TNA in 2004
Believes Jeff Jarrett was the reason why he wasn’t used well because Jarrett didnt know his character
Fairplay believes he was able to help TNA in the promotion area especially on radio and on television
Believed he could have helped TNA as a manager or a interview segment like “Pipers Pit”
Fairplay thinks that Vince Russo didn’t write the material for Fairplay that would have been believable
Their were talks of Fairplay managing Kid Kash for while. “The purpose of a manger is to manage someone who isn’t good at talking and Kid Kash is a good talker” says Fairplay. There were also ideas for him to manage Abyss but “we have different type of gimmick. My idea was Samoa Joe.” Fairplay said.
The gimmicks they would have reality show type gimmicks… “Reality Joe”
Attended both Wrestle Mania and ROH shows in March in Chicago
Where he meant Jim Cornette for the first time, also got 6 ROH DVD’s and clothing and got drinks with Joe and Styles
“I own Johnny Fairplay and the character” when asked about if Johnny Fairplay is his real name
Bought every episode of Survivor when casted and watched each season at least twice
Thought he would take advantage of how emotional the people on the show could be so having a dying grandma was a great idea
Says his grandma loved the prank
CBS asked Fairplay if he and his grandma could do the Amazing Race
Also appeared on Fear Factor
Participated in “Kill Reality” a movie on the E! Network
“There is a common rule to never prank me because I’ll get you back 100 times worse” said Fairplay when asked about the prank he pulled on a fellow cast member… Trisha from “The Bachelor”
Believes ECW is a better fit for him
Watches everything that involves wrestling and also UFC
Doesn’t like that wrestling is always on
“Looks like to spots on the roster” when asked about the legal troubles of Sabu and RVD
Believed that the suspensions/fines of both men was reasonable
Was approached to do the All-Stars of Survivor but rejected because of the only 3 week rest period between his series
Likes Mike “The Miz” as they have been friends for years…. talks between the two about perhaps managing Miz if he were turn heel and become his manager
