WRESTLER TURNS ACTOR
SUPERSTAR wrestler Kane, also known as The Big Brother Monster, is now a movie actor.
In the terror movie See No Evil, he portrays a psychopath named Jacob Goodnight holed up in the abandoned Blackwell Hotel terrorizing and killing victims by plucking out their eyes with his razor-sharp fingernails. His character is more than just scary. He is so brutal, so violent and so sadistic.
Of his role, Kane reveals: “The only similarity between myself and the character I am portraying is we both had horrible childhoods. We also grew up to be extremely large powerful men who can now do whatever we want to do. Jacob does what he does on the big screen and I do what I do in the ring.â€
According to Joel Simon, president of WWE Films, Kane’s entrance to film is a natural; extension of his massive popularity. “In Hollywood, you need to find an audience for your film. Kane has that as he has millions of fans watching him weekly.â€
Kane’s wrestling expertise was an asset as he does his own stunts.
Luke Pegler, who plays Michael, a hardened drug dealer, was so impressed with the wrestler’s skills that he allowed Kane to simulate smashing his face against a wall during a brutal, pivotal scene. He also noted that Kane manages to frighten his fellow actors on set.
“Kane’s look by itself is extraordinarily frightening and quite unusual. Little prosthetic is needed. He already has a shaven head. He is 7″ tall and he is huge. All we had to do was make him really filthy and add a few cuts and scars,†Director Gregory Dark says.
Devotees of the horror genre will love this film. It is a combination of Freddy’s horror in Nightmare On Elm Street and Jason’s bloodbath in Friday The 13th.
See No Evil, distributed by Viva International, is now in theaters.
