Victory Road is the next TNA PPV on July 16, 2006. Despite initial rumors and/or plans that this would be the first PPV out of Orlando, Florida, the PPV is scheduled to be held at the usual spot. TNA is still actively trying to get a PPV into a new venue outside of the state as even Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett are remarking openly about the crowd being burnt out.
With Victory Road, the idea within TNA is to make a huge lead-in between Slammiversary and Bound For Glory where they can build towards the biggest show of the year similar to how WWE does at the beginning of the year with their “Road To WrestleMania.” Victory Road replaced Unbreakable this year for that very reason. The Victory Road logo and poster have both been released and are viritually the same as the one from 2004. You can view the official Victory Road poster by clicking here.
The card for the 2006 Victory Road PPV as it stands right now is:
Team 3D Vs. James Gang & Abyss
NWA World Tag Team Championship
AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, & Their Female Enforcer (c) Vs. America’s Most Wanted & Gail Kim
Number One Contendership – NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Samoa Joe Vs. Sting Vs. Scott Steiner Vs. Christian Cage
NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Jeff Jarrett (c) Vs. Winner Of Number One Contendership Match
The following match has been proposed but not accepted by Larry Zybsko:
Hair Vs. Hair
Raven Vs. Larry Zybsko
In addition to all of this, it looks like Ron Killings and LAX will face off at the PPV either in a one-on-one match or with Killings teaming with Monty Brown, Senshi will defend the X Division Championship most likely against Sonjay Dutt, & Chris Sabin and Kevin Nash will have a re-match in some stipulation which may include Jay Lethal.
More will be known on the full card as well as spoilers on the outcome and next few months of storylines after the next set of tapings occurs, but as it stands right now, Jeff Jarrett will most likely hold onto the title until Bound For Glory to put over someone similar to Rhino last year on the big show.
