SWA Point of Impact
June 17th 2006, Clydebank Town Hall, Scotland.
Yet again venturing into Clydebank was a massive sucsess for SWA, with a full house on board and a top notch show for the fans. This show wasn’t taped for DVD unlike previous shows, however this is the only 2006 event not to be available to buy.
The night welcomed new commissioner Draevyn into power.
‘Simply Perfect’ Pete O’Neil defeated Chris Charizma.
O’Neil defeated the former NWA-UK Central Counties Champion when his tag partner, Damien O’Connor, made his way to the ring when the referee was knocked unconscious. With O’Connors help, O’Neil nailed Charizma with his finisher in time for the referee to make the three count.
Eager to get the fans back on his side now that he had left the Sinners group, an outraged Charizma challenged O’Connor to a match the next time SWA came to Clydebank on August 5th.
Johnny Milla defeated Wolfgang.
A List members Falcon, Johnny Darko and Micken sat on the stage throughout this match while Cage Tyler stayed at ringside. Milla was able to slow down Wolfgangs fast paced offence and persevered as Tyler and the A List kept interfering. Finlay Milla was able to pick up the win with a German suplex on Wolfgang. Unsatisfied with the results, the A List got in the ring and began an assault on Milla.
Commissioner Draevyn had enough of the A Lists antics once Wolfgang set up a chair over Milla’s neck for Tyler to sit on to ‘ease his back’ and with GN Security in tow, demanded they leave ‘her ring’. The A Lis complied, but reminded her that they’d be back.
Milla won this match which saw the complete A-List surround the ring and beat down Milla once he won.
Adam Shame versus Commissioners choice.
ScottishWrestling.co.uk held a poll to whom would face Adam in this match. Johnny Moss was a favourite to face Adam with Drew Galloway as the fans second choice. A member of the A List and Conscience was also guessed by fans, but no one would have imagined who Adam would have to fight.
Shame came to ringside before his match against the unannounced opponent and told the fans in attendance that there wasn’t anyone he hadn’t defeated; Conscience, Canyon and many more had fallen to him and he was eager to get the job done quickly tonight.
Draevyn corrected Shame by telling him there was someone he defiantly hadn’t defeated, his own tag team partner Hatred was then introduced and the fight began. For the first time ever Adam had met his match. Shame had dominated the ring with his hard hitting style but Hatred was bigger and badder than him, leaving him to abandon his brutish tactics and attempt to bring Hatred to the mat in a strict, tough wrestling match.
Shame was able to overcome the odds and force Hatred to tap out to a Tazmission for the win and the shot at the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion.
MEAT Inc. defeated the Lowlanders to become the new SWA Tag Team Champions!
After winning back their tag belts from T2K a month before, the Lowlanders went into the match confident. What raised their confidence was that their opposition was so far untested, but it seemed they let their guard down allowing MEAT (Raging Bull and The Butcher) to show how good they were and take the win with their patented Spit Roast.
The crowd had a mixed reaction, but were pleased to see MEAT win the belts and to see the Clydebank native, Raging Bull, become a champion in his home town.
After the match, the Lowlanders handed the belts to MEAT in a show of good sportsmanship.
Draevyn came to the ring to announce White Tiger versus Majik when the A List’s music hit. The groups came to the ring, led by Cage Tyler who took the mic and after pointing out that GN Security could do with a bath, claimed that the A List weren’t the liars and cheats they’d been painted as and that they had been treated unfairly with their last title shot being turned into a three-way due to White Tiger taking liberties. He asked the commissioner to make sure there would be no liberties aken tonight and that the A List have a fair opportunity at the NWA gold.
Draevyn replied telling Tyler that she was all for opportunity and gave Johnny Darko an opportunity to prove himself against Conscience.
Conscience came to ringside and the A List left Johnny to be massacred. Darko fared well against Conscience with a little help from his friend, Cage Tyler. When Conscience was knocked out of the ring, Tyler hand cuffed The Pryor to the ring forcing him to lose to count out.
The A lists celebration was short lived as Conscience broke free and flattened Tyler and Darko. Once the A list had left ringside he said that if the A List wanted to fight two-on-one that was fine, and that on August 5th Tyler and Darko would face him once again in the ring in a handicap match.
Jamie Walker defeated White Tiger in the next match when Jamie reacted harshly to the ‘psycho’ chants by the fans. Walkers therapist, Doctor Laandstrom tried to calm Walker, but it was too late and Tiger found himself quickly destroyed to the disappointment of his fans.
‘Ladies Chioce’ Chris Renfrew defeated ‘Superstar’ Darren Lewis in a best of Five for the T Division trophy.
In a show stealing match of the night candidate, chris Renfrew took the WWE tryout star Darren Lewis to his limit and back again. At the last Clydebank show Renfrew almost took Eric Canyons NWA Scottish title away from him, this time around Renfrew gained his first win in SWA by pinning Darren Lewis to make the score 1-1 in this best of five series’s.
The crowd exploded in cheer as Renfrew held up the trophy, signalling to Lewis that this would not be as easy a fight as he thought.
Eric ‘The Fist’ Canyon defeated Falcon to retain the NWA Scottish Heavyweight title.
The A List turned out for this match once again to cheer on Falcon, but after five minutes of straight interference, Draevyn demanded everyone without an NWA managers licence head backstage, leaving only Tyler at ringside with Scot lands Next Phenomenon.
Falcon was a worthy opponent for Canyon, bringing the champion to his limit and dominating him with his vast technical ability, but in the end Canyon was able to push himself that extra mile and retain against Falcon by fighting through Tylers interference and battling on through the heavy blows he was taking to his body and his ego from the A List star Falcon.
The match proved that Falcon, a former NWA UK Junior Heavyweight Champion, is a definite contender for the NWA Scottish Heavyweight throne.
Another A List beat down was stopped by Jonny Milla and Conscience who chased the A List to the back, leaving Canyons vulnerable for a spear from Adam Shame.
As the show closed the fans were chanting “Our Next Champ” towards Shame.
