The following is from today’s New York Times:
USA Wrests TNT’s Crown
With the loss of its postseason basketball broadcasts, TNT ceded prime time’s No. 1 cable slot back to USA Network in the second week of June. According to Nielsen estimates, USA programming occupied the week’s top four among total viewers. Its two hours of “WWE Monday Night Raw” (5.4 million, then 4.5 million) ranked first and second, followed by the season premiere of “The 4400” (4.2 million) on June 11. In fourth place was the second hour of “WWE vs. ECW: Head to Head” (4.2 million). (The revived Extreme Championship Wrestling brand is Sci Fi Channel’s new show, but its corporate sibling USA gave it a boost before the channel’s larger audience.) The rest of the week’s Top 10 on cable were Nickelodeon broadcasts, and that children’s channel was No. 1 in the total day, as always. KATE AURTHUR
