A presentation of the SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 video game at the E3 video game conference in California noted that ECW would be having a presence in the game. According to one of the developers of the game, you will be able to play as ECW wrestlers at ECW venues in the game. As noted earlier, former WWE RAW Diva Search winner and now TNA Knockout Christy Hemme was spotted at the E3 conference as well as former RAW Diva Search contestant Leyla. The first ECW house show will be on 6/24 at the New Alhambra Arena, which of course is the old “ECW Arena.” That show will be two weeks after racing star Hermie Sadler promotes a TNA Wrestling show in the same building. The ECW house show will be one of five wrestling events in that area in the month of June as CZW runs on 6/10, CHIKARA Pro runs on 6/25, and Pro Wrestling Unplugged runs on 6/23.
According to Bob Ryder, Jay Hassman, a former VP in charge of PPV and marketing for WCW and a former PPV consultant for TNA as well as for former WWE PPV marketer Team Services, has been arrested on four felony counts in New York. Hassman was arraigned on 4/29 on charges of two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument, and one count each of Grand Larceny, and False Business Records. Hassman’s next court appearance is set for 6/2.
