To correct an earlier rumor making it’s run on the internet, Raven is not on his way out in TNA.
The current plan is for Raven to be out of action for around ten weeks and to return in April around the Lockdown PPV. Jackie Gayda will apparently be part of his return and it will center on the controversy in Canada.
The part that got construed is that Raven has been receiving one of the highest sums per appearance in TNA and TNA does not wish to pay him this. That is not correct in any way, shape, or form as many in TNA actually feel that Raven should be making more for his valuable contributions to the company.
The real story is that Raven, while out for the ten weeks, will not be getting paid as he is paid per TNA appearance. To add to the matters more, Raven is currently suffering from a huge health issue due to his past history of drug abuse, both recreational and performance enhancing. In fact, his thyroid is so damaged at this point that Raven is almost not able to drop weight and he is way over the 270 pound mark as of right now, almost 25 pounds over his regular weight.
The plan for Raven to be off TV for these ten weeks was set in stone month’s ago and this has nothing to do with his health problems and if the booking committee had realized the severity, they would have tried to help Raven out. Even more, Raven has reportedly kept this issue under wraps to help out TNA and not over-extend the booking committee, which is just the kind of person Raven is. To say TNA is unhappy with Raven or the amount he is getting paid is perhaps the most incorrect thing to say at this point.
We will have more on Raven’s health in the future, but right now, his slot with TNA is safe.
