El Texano (Juan Aguilar) passed away late last night from respiratory failure at the age of 47. Texano had been in poor health for several months.
As Los Misioneros de la Muerte, El Texano & El Signo & Negro Navarro in the 80s changed the face of Mexican wrestling from where most main events were tag team matches to main events becoming trios matches. Later in his career, Silver King & El Texano, as Los Cowboys, were Mexico’s best tag team. Texano was also well known in Japan, and appeared on a WCW Clash of Champions under the name of Silver King II.
Aguilar was on his way to the hospital in Guadalajara for emergency surgery when he passed away.
