Samoa Joe’s problems in TNA have not been solved as of yet as the two have yet to reach anew contract. However, both Joe and TNA management are sure they will reach a new deal soon and TNA is not panicking with the idea of Joe leaving. Apparently, Joe is not interested in leaving and only used his recent actions of inviting WWE management to ROH as a scare tactic and to help his friends, such as Jay Lethal, get noticed. Joe’s idea is that Lethal is a good worker but will probably never get on top in TNA, so he might as well go to WWE and get national exposure as well as a nice paycheck.
Despite the angle on TV, Bob Armstrong truly had arthroscopic knee surgery on the 5th of last month. The original plan called for Konnan to injure him the week before the surgery, however, Jeff Jarrett thought the big reaction 4LK got when they joined up made him slow down the break-up angle, although only by a few weeks. They ended up taping the segment after the surgery; although they taped the surgery like WWE has done and will use it as fodder to get Konnan over more. Also, Armstrong, who is 66, was told not to wrestle until March, but he has already started up his trade again as he was wrestling on 12/29 in Birmingham but not moving well.
Alex Shelley, Roderick Strong, and Austin Aries are not going to be called Generation Next or Next Generation as rumored. Though the idea is pretty much stolen from TNA, TNA does not want to completely copy the idea. Expect the group to feud with Jerry Lynn up-coming which may come to head in a 6 man tag with the group versus Lynn, Chris Sabin, & Sonjay Dutt.
