The Royal Rumble next year will come from Miami, Florida on Sunday, January 29th. The advertisement and poster for the first big PPV of 2006 have already been released and are featuring a “Roman gladiator” theme. The advertisement, which was shown first on WWE Armageddon, features the whole McMahon family imitating the legendary Caesar family at the Coliseum acting like their “gladiators” were going to compete in a “Royal Rumblus.”
The plans right now for the Royal Rumble have Randy Orton winning the title in order to go on to face Batista at Wrestlemania for the title, where he will most likely win. WWE has been really high on Orton’s work in the feud with Undertaker this year and want to give him a heel run with the title in 2006 after Wrestlemania, which many think will work out better than Orton’s first run with the title.
Batista and John Cena are both expected to be champs through Royal Rumble and at least until Wrestlemania. With that said, the build-up for Cena’s match at Wrestlemania will most likely begin at the Royal Rumble since Raw has no other PPV to do such at before the PPV. Triple H is his scheduled opponent as of right now so a confrontation or a screw-job could definitely happen at the Rumble between the two.
No other plans are known as of right now, but like with every past Royal Rumble, expect to see a couple of title defenses and a random match before the Rumble.
