Last night at the Heat tapings before WWE RAW, Viscera & Val Venis, who are still tagging despite rumors, defeated a pair of unidentified wrestlers. One of the two wrestlers was announced as Jamin Olivencia. Olivencia is actually wrestler J-Man currently for Ohio Valley Wrestling. He joined the WWE developmental promotion around nine months ago, but has yet to receive a developmental deal. This can be seen to many as a “try-out” for such a deal in the WWE especially as he has impressed people within the OVW management team. J-Man is also a former star of Empire State Wrestling out of upstate New York, run by Pro Wrestling Illustrated writer Dan Murphy. It should be noted that before he left ESW, J-Man was a former tag champion and main eventer. J-Man will also be on The Wrestling Crossfire radio show this Saturday and is most likely a lock to be at the OVW TV tapings this week.
In a follow-up from an earlier story on Big Vito and his website, his website is currently being run by a very young teenager who has been known to use the site as the means to further silly internet feuds and other immature agendas. This webmaster has also stated that the rumors of Lashley and Vito having heat backstage are completely false, while many other somewhat questionable wrestling “journalists” such as Dave Scherer have stated the complete opposite. In the end, it comes down to a teenager’s word (who has loyalty to Vito in this situation) against one of the most respected wrestling journalists today, among others. Also, it should be noted that there were reports of a similar attitude Vito expressed in WCW as many such as Johnny Stamboli have revealed in the past. The general consensus, as on par with the Lashley rumor, is that Vito means nothing by it, but generally rubs people the wrong way.
