It was announced Friday that TNA drew a 0.9 for their television special on SpikeTV on Thursday night.
The show, headlined by Jeff Jarrett’s win over Rhyno to regain the title he lost at the last PPV show after Kevin Nash pulled out for health reasons, was received overall as a solid, if not overwhelming effort.
As one step in an uphill battle to getting a competitive primetime slot on television, TNA’s first special was a tryout for a better slot than Saturday nights. They had hoped for a larger rating, but got on the high end of what they have already been getting.
TNA is expected to have another primetime special Monday, February 13, 2006 on SpikeTV. It will attempt to attract the RAW audience as it is the week that RAW will be preempted on the USA Network for the Westminster Dog Show.
