NEW NAMES AND MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR “NO TURNING BACK” TOUR
72 days and counting until the return of the UK’s most exciting new wrestling promotion to the Dome in Doncaster when 1PW presents back-to-back events on Friday January 6th and Saturday January 7th, as part of the NO TURNING BACK weekend. Ring in the New Year with the hard-hitting, high-flying action of 1PW.
Three more matches are being announced this week. First, British favorites JONNY STORM and JODY FLEISCH have accepted another International Tag Team Challenge for Friday night’s show, this time from one of the most vicious tag team in recent wrestling history: LOW-KI and HOMICIDE, known collectively as THE ROTTWEILERS. Storm and Fleisch can probably forget the handshakes and hugs that they shared with Jerry Lynn and Chris Sabin after the ITTC match at A CRUEL TWIST OF FATE. The Rottweilers are set on a path of destruction and aren’t looking to make any friends along the way. And with 1PW officials hinting at holding a Tag Title tournament in mid-2006, every match like this one will count when it comes to earning a chance at those new belts.
Next, Low-Ki will have a more immediate chance at championship gold during the NTB weekend. On Saturday night, Low-Ki will face his former NWA World Tag Title partner “The Fallen Angel” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS in a Qualifying Match for the 1PW World Title tournament. As members of Triple X, they ruled the tag team scene in NWA-TNA for months, but now they will go one-on-one with only one man advancing into March’s road to the gold.
Also on Saturday night, Homicide won’t be left idle when he takes on “The Anarchist” DOUG WILLIAMS in non-tournament action as the Rottweilers look to mark their territory in 1PW in both singles and tag team action. Next week, we will announce two more Qualifying matches for th 1PW World Title tournament as well as Masato Tanaka’s opponent for the Friday night show. “THE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN” RESPONDS TO 1PW
After briefly losing the NWA World Title earlier this week, JEFF JARRETT is apparently furious that 1PW Officials still won’t tell him who he is wrestling during the NO TURNING BACK weekend. Jarrett has threatened 1PW with another flood of legal paperwork if he is not given a chance to scout and prepare for his opponents. 1PW has apparently decided to meet Jarrett halfway on this issue and sent the champ word through legal counsel that they would release the name of his Title Tournament Qualifying Match opponent… next week.
Not much of Jarrett’s verbal tirades against 1PW can be reprinted here, except to say that in messages left on voicemails with 1PW, 1 Up Games and on promoter Steven Gauntley’s home phone, Jarrett said that no amount of “bovine scatology” (a polite way of rewording what Jarrett actually said) that 1PW put in his way would keep him winning the 1PW World belt… and throwing it in the English Channel.
