I don’t know where to start. Okay first so many of you have asked me if I’m going to Wrestlemania and I’m so happy to say yes I have a ticket and I will be there. I’m already counting down the months, days and so on. Well not really but the excitement has started to hit me. Second, I did not watch Impact last night. Instead I order Mr. Olympia to see Triple H. I am under the impression that there is a replay Monday of Impact so I plan to check that out. Third, On Melina’s site yesterday, she absolutely blasted Mickie James (Alexis Laree.) She really made her feelings known about Mickie. Well Trish on her website decided to address Melina’s comments and it’s all very interesting so if you feel like it check both women’s sites out, and I mean for the statements not their pictures. Seriously on to Smackdown. This was a show I totally liked. I found it very entertaining. The San Antonio crowd was excellent and everything for me just seemed to click.
The opening was a good one. I had no problem having Cowboy Bob Orton out there with Randy because he just stood there. It’s when Randy goes to dad during matches that drives me nuts. This time the Orton’s opening the show worked. Randy cut a decent promo about defeating Taker but things got better when he declared that it’s time for him to go after Batista for the title. I liked the whole idea of Randy moving on and away from Taker, although it’s rumored that their feud will end at the Survivor Series, but still I liked Orton gunning for Batista. I also loved it that Eddie Guerrero came out once he heard that Randy wanted the title shot. Watching Eddie Guerrero and Randy face to face was my favorite part of this segment. These two guys I would love to see work a program together. Listening to Eddie on the mic explaining why Randy is not the guy to go after Batista was great. And adding to all of this was the appearance by the World Champion Batista. He did a nice job out there. He had Theodore Long’s blessings to set up a number one contenders match between his “old friend” Randy Orton and his new “amigo” Eddie Guerrero for later on in the show. This was one good segment. And this is what set the tone for a very good Smackdown.
So Orlando Jordan earlier in the day declared that if he lost his match to Chris Benoit he would quit the business, he’s tired of being embarrassed by Benoit. I have to say that this little interview of his made sense, I mean how many matches has he had with Chris? Each one he’s been humiliated by Benoit, so saying that he would quit the business is something that seems the next step to do. I will be honest with you I have had my fill of Benoit vs. Jordan. But his match was okay, I had no problem with it and with Jordan again tapping out it will be very interesting to see if he does “quit” and how long he’ll be gone. While many of you have emailed me that it’s time to get Sharmell off TV I have to say that I like the way she’s now being used. She’s basically taken over Booker’s life by complaining and demanding that HE should be the one against Chris Benoit not Jordan. I liked the way this all played out with Long and Palmer Cannon. Sharmell is coming off like a control freak and a total bitch and this could lead to maybe her leaving once Booker gets wind of this, or at least a very good heel role for her.
I thought the tag match with LOD/Christy vs. MNM vs. Burchill/Regal vs. The Mexicools was quite interesting. LOD still does NOTHING for me. But watching The Mexicools play the face role seemed to work out okay. I’m a big fan of Paul Birchill’s and I would like this guy to get used more. MNM as you know totally appeal to me so all in all I liked this match and what I liked about this match more than the wrestling is that it gives me hope that with the appearance by the Shane Twins that the almost non existence tag team division has a chance with the Mexicools, MNM, the Shane Twins and even Birchill and Regal. Also again I have to give it to Christy Hemme, she’s out there to give her all, it’s obvious that she wants to learn the business and each time I see her in that ring I’m always impressed by what she does. So I have to say I really enjoyed this match.
The Peep Show’s host, Christian made me laugh. I liked when he told his guest Stacey he always thought she was a bit of tramp, yes that made me laugh. As far as this angle pushing the rumored love triangle with Stacey, Stacey’s boyfriend and, Jennifer Anniston that was a dud. I read last week that Stacey was very upset about the article and watching her in the ring, it seemed like this was something she really didn’t want to do, unless she’s one hell of an actress. However I’m glad that Jillian was brought into all of this. While I don’t expect much in the ring since Stacey isn’t a wrestler a feud with these two women could be decent. The Fatal Four-way with Booker T vs. Christian vs. Rey Mysterio vs. JBL, for a shot at the U.S. Title against Benoit was excellent. A lot of things appealed to me here. The match itself was sweet, each man contributed so much. I think it’s great that JBL is in here. Putting the former WWE champion in this one for the U.S. title shot, puts so much more importance on the U.S. title. And finally this is where the controlling Sharmell came through. It was her interference that gave Booker the win. This played out very well. Booker was totally oblivious to the fact that his wife was the reason for the win. This carried into a backstage segment with Chris Benoit and Booker all excited about their match next week. And then it was Benoit’s comment that kind of got things going. He told Booker he hopes what happened to Rey won’t happen to him next week. Naturally Booker has no idea what Benoit was talking about. Then Chris told him about Sharmell helping Book to win. I liked the panic on Sharmell’s face when Benoit was telling Booker all of this. Booker wasn’t happy with Chris’s comments and Sharmell found a way to end things buy saying that Benoit is just scared of him. The match, and this segment just made Sharmell look like anything but a diva, she came off perfectly as the dominating wife.
One of my favorites, Mr. Kennedy, Kennedy didn’t wrestle but he did his mic thing. I will admit I like Mr. Kennedy more out there more animated he was a little too calm for me on Thursday. This guy has to have the annoying humor to make him fun to watch, and that wasn’t there this time. Bobby Lashley vs. Nunzio was a match that again came off well. This time Lashley seemed groomed for a heel role. I really liked how focused he was. How he kept one expression on his face the whole time he was in the ring beating up Nunzio. One of my favorite parts of the match was when he lifted Nunzio up and threw him to Big Vito, but Vito moved away and Nunzio fell hard to the ground. This match at least in my opinion really did something for Lashley’s character. I found the next part creepy yet again kind of funny. I’m talking about the Boogeyman’s debut on Smackdown. This is some weird character. When he sang his little tune his voice is so soothing I hysterical. The man has teeth missing on top and on the bottom and he’s just so freaky and funny. I have no idea if this character will survive on Smackdown but his first appearance gets thumbs up from me.
My match of the night was the main event with Randy Orton vs. Eddie Guerrero. It was everything I thought it would be. I’m telling you an Orton-Guerrero feud would be such a big thing for Smackdown. Randy showed why in the ring he’s got it, and Eddie? I don’t remember ever seeing him look bad in a match. Eddie won on a no dq thanks to Cowboy Bob interfering. Since dad wrecked it for his son, could we soon be seeing Randy RKO his father in the very near future? Oh I definitely wouldn’t rule it out. After Guerrero’s win, both Orton’s started beating up Eddie and it was Batista that came out to help Guerrero. After the save Teddy Long came out and announced a tag team match with two guys that now seem to get along Batista and Guerrero vs. The Orton’s. This was a very good main event, and as I said one of Smackdown’s better shows. Now read the following as nothing but sarcasm. I’m guessing Smackdown is only going to get better. According to WWE.com there is a new division being added to boost ratings. They are adding a Junior Division with midgets. I have no problem with this, but two things bug me about it. One, this is not going to boost ratings; it’s not even going to add to ratings. And second, I’m afraid that these wrestlers will be humiliated. This is all so ridiculous. In one week they have fired JR and added a Junior Division. I would love to know what Vince is thinking. I want to end with two items. The first is a petition to sign to bring JR back http://www.petitiononline.com/jimross/petition.html
And then I have a reader that wrote what I feel is a dynamite open letter to the Ultimate Warrior. I got his permission to give you his email. I would hope whether you are a fan of Warriors or not that you would check this out, here’s his email amomets86@aol.com

I wanted to add this in
I made two huge mistakes in my column, and thanks to so many of you I can now correct them. First Orlando Jordan said he would quit the business if he tapped out to the crossface, not just if he lost to Benoit.
And second it wasn’t the Shane Twins that took out the Mexicools it was Chad and Tank Toland from OVW.
I want to thank all of you that corrected me, I feel terrible that I screwed things up so badly
