This past July, British wrestling’s biggest and most successful tag-team, the U.K. Pitbulls, sat down at the FWA Academy to record the latest in the series of British Shoot Interviews.
Beginning with their first formative steps in the wrestling business, Big Dave and the Bulk spoke in-depth about attending a Hammerlock training camp, which seemed to mainly consist of watching videos of Andre Baker, before they eventually got their start proper at the WAW training school, under the watchful eye of the likes of Jimmy Ocean and Sweet Saraya.
There are really too many stories to mention here. The big guys come across as very likeable and passionate about their careers, and are extremely respectful about those in the wrestling business who have helped them along the way, especially WAW. During the word association segment at the end of the interview, they describe WAW as home, despite the fact that they’ve competed for countless promotions all over the world.
Extras in this two disc set come in the form of a fourteen man tag match from the recent FWA Celebrity Carnage tour, and a Premier Promotions bout against James Tighe and the UK Kid.
My only criticism of this release is that it’s just a tad too long, lasting over four hours when you include the extras. While the Pitbulls have accomplished a great deal during their careers, I’m sure a few things could have been left out of the finished product, making the entire interview shorter. No offence to the big guys, but as far as shoot interviews go, only Jim Cornette has managed to hold my attention for that long!
