I thought that today I would do something a little different. I thought I would answer two major questions that lately I’ve been getting asked a lot, and then there are two that have been asked for years, now they won’t take up much space but hopefully it will clear things up, I’m looking forward to this, and I hope this column turns out to be a good one. Also I’ll end with the latest, which would have to do with another release from WWE and a very big signing over at TNA.
And speaking of TNA, that’s going to be the first question I answer. This one is a popular one with so many of you. Will I watch TNA’s Impact once it premiers on Spike TV? And the answer is yes. I do plan to check it out. I stopped watching Impact when it was on Fox, and I had no desire to watch their online show. The reason for that is because I can’t take Jeff Jarrett. While Jarrett teaming up with Owen Hart in WWE was extremely fun to watch, Jarrett being the top guy in TNA is just not my cup of tea. While the guy wrestles well, his mic skills are just horrendous. It got to a point where every time he opened his mouth I had to turn the sound off, and that’s after putting up with his weak promo’s for a while. I remember one time and this is what ended my Impact watching he did some promo I believe on Kevin Nash, that I’m not sure, but it looked like he was reading it word for word off cue cards. That was totally it for me. You have such great young talent on that roster. Guys like AJ Styles, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels and so many others. And I have to sit and watch a show being built around Jarrett?
And before any of you email me saying well he’s the Triple H of TNA, I will say whether I’m a Triple H mark or not, Hunter can wrestle, Hunter can talk Hunter entertains. Jarrett can’t even come close to what Hunter does for WWE. But it’s been a while now and I do want to see if anything has changed. I’ll be honest with you the more TNA takes the WWE released men and women the more I will watch. And let me add a few more names that I have no desire to watch, and honestly I might change the channel when they come on. I’m talking about Kip James who is as boring as he was after the New Age Outlaws split. And 3 Live Kru, I’m just not into that trio. So as long as I get the X division and the former WWE talent, you bet I’ll be watching.
The next question I have gotten, although honestly not really by that many but I want to touch on it is, why I am so against John Cena? I have been brutal when it comes to talking about him in my column. I do have a reason; I’m not trying to purposely pick on this guy. But truthfully it has come to a point where Cena is really annoying me, in fact annoying me so badly that I don’t think I can be open minded about the guy, and I’m embarrassed to admit that. John Cena as the mid-card thug, a punk with a chip on his shoulder that rapped his heart out was extremely effective. He wasn’t out there to get pops from the live crowd. When he came out as a heel I felt he was putting his all into this character. But this face turn, which I believe had to happen since the fans started to embrace his bad ass act as become so pathetic. He’s nothing more than Raw’s cheerleader. I’m certainly not blaming him for what’s going on; no I blame Vince and his wonderful creative team. They took a guy that had so much anger and depth in his character and made him a joke. He’s a cross between the Rock and Steve Austin and it’s just not working out. Like Jeff Jarrett, when Cena does “the champ is here” I want to ring his neck. Or “if you want some come get some,” dear God it just sounds like nails on a chalk board.
My goal I swear isn’t to bash him but it’s hard for me to find anything decent in him. And yeah he was one of the reasons I didn’t order Unforgiven. I can’t take him on Raw why the hell would I put money out to see the same stuff in the ring, the same actions that I get on a weekly basis? I will just make a promise that if I see anything that comes off okay I will credit the guy. It’s really not personal, but it’s just very hard for me to overlook so much that he does.
Now for the two most popular questions that so many of you want to know. Yes, I’m gorgeous, and built beautifully. Okay just kidding here they are. The first question is, do I get paid for writing columns? The answer is NO. I never did and I never will. But I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, and I mean this I sincerely do, I feel my payment is getting so much feedback and making so many wonderful friends. The last question is am I Linda McMahon? And the answer is NO! I always feel so bad to email a reader back and tell them no, I am just a fan. So there you are I hope all of this has been informational. Now I’ll end with the latest. If you go to WWE.com you will see that Mark Copani who played Hassan has been released. He has a statement about the release and supposedly he’s off to Hollywood. And the big signing for TNA would be that the Dudley’s signed a multi year deal with the company. As many of you know they are not allowed to use the name Dudley’s since Vince McMahon has control of that name but I have a feeling these two will add a lot to Impact and the pay per views. Okay I’ll be back either on Saturday or Sunday to throw out my Smackdown thoughts. I still miss the show not being on Thursday’s but I’m sure in time Friday’s and Smackdown will be the norm.
